Forget the kids they are not the issue. I would protest in front of whatever federal elected official office is near by or even their house. Demand he/she do something to fix the situation. If they are an amnesty supporter make them choke on it.

There is literally NOTHING you can do that the media will not construe into a negative, because you are trying to co-opt people who DO NOT WANT to concede you have a grievance, and they are willing to cheat to make you look bad! No "protest" is ever going to work so long as the MSM is counted on to be the delivery system to the rest of the country.
