The last Christian families leave Mosul
Agenzia Fides ^ | 7/18/2014

Mosul (Agenzia Fides) - The last Christian families still present in Mosul are leaving the city and are heading towards Erbil, Dohuk and other areas of Iraqi Kurdistan which are considered safer. This is confirmed by sources of the local Chaldean community to Fides Agency. The new exodus has accelerated in the past two days, after Sunni insurgents and militants of the Islamic Caliphate began to mark with letters of recognition the homes of Christians and Shiites. As reported by the website www.Ankawa.com, the evacuation of the last Christians is also due to the intensification of the bombing carried out by the military government on many areas of the city, especially at night. In many villages of the Nineveh Plain, the main emergency is currently represented by the suspension of water supply, made even more unbearable due to high temperatures. Øbama can celebrate another great victory by his children.

May God forgive the United States for allowing that sociopath to come to power.

May God have MERCY on the souls of the Muslims because otherwise they will come into a VERY HARSH judgement by the REAL GOD on the day they are judged. This includes Obama

Under George Bush in Iraq we had purple ink on the thumbs of Iraqis optimistically voting in a new era

Under Barak Obama we have innocent blood on the hands of terrorists crucify both Christians and other Muslims and Iraqis voting with their feet to flee the chaos and senseless violence wrought by the Obama armed, financed, trained an organized army of terror.

God help Iraq and God forgive us for what we have wrought with this President

Well, since God actually allows things to happen, I think God is angry about something. What could it be? What really makes him mad? What did He not forgive Israel for in the Old Testament?

Don't be so quick to let Bush off the hook here, dude.

"Islam is a religion of peace." -- Barack Hussein Obama

There's something wrong with that statement, isn't there?

Rather lets change it to: Islam is a religion of PIECES.

There once was a term for this when it happened 20 years ago in Europe (people being driven out of their homeland due to religious differences), and EVERYONE was up in arms.

Funny, I don’t see that term used here...I wonder why.

When I was in Iraq (2008) a Christian father in Baghdad mentioned that his kids had never had a Christmas tree. I had a small one that my wife had sent me so I gave it to him.

I hope they are doing well.

Christianity is not an ethnic designation. I have sympathy for the Assyrian ethnic group, and all the other ethnic groups who are minorities in the middle east (and under Islam).

But the Assyrian Christians lived under Islamic domination for about 1400 years. How many converts did they make in that time? Zero? (Did they really think the gospel was too weak to contest Islam, so they hid it?)

Christianity was not meant to be a light placed under a bushel.

When American evangelicals started to preach in Iraq following the war, some of these ethnic groups—out of long habit, and fear of muslim retaliation—actually joined with the muslims in criticizing them for attempting to convert muslims. And joined in spreading lies about them.

When a tree is producing no fruit, it gets removed from the orchard.

Sorry.

To correct you, this branch of the Christian goes back to the days of the first believers in Jesus. That is the sad thing, a historic Christian group is going away.

The good news is that the Christian is growing in Africa, Asia, and in other parts of the global south.

“That is the sad thing, a historic Christian group is going away.”

Christianity is not part of an ethnology exhibit.

Constantinople used to be a great Christian center. It sent missionaries out who converted the slavs, Russians, Bulgars, etc. etc. It had a huge portrait of Christ hung over one of the main entry gates and called itself the “Christ-protected city”.

Then it lost all that. It didn’t covert the Arabs or the Turks, and it got swept away. (In five hundred years of contacts between the Greeks and the Turks, how many Turks were converted? How many Greek missionaries went to preach to the Turks? In five hundred years? When did Greek Christianity become just GREEK Christianity—a light hid under a bushel?)

Today the dream of the Greeks is for Constantinople to be Greek again. Sorry, that’s not enough.

Today’s Chinese Christians, even persecuted as they are at home, are sending out missionaries; these missionaries expect to be killed in the places to where they are sent, but they go anyway. Christianity for them is not a page in a history book, but a living faith.

Under Bush’s watch the Iraqis implemented an Islam-dominated Constitution.

“Christianity is not part of an ethnology exhibit.”

LIke it or not, the ethnology is, part of its HISTORY. Now accept that gentle correcting.

The Christian faith is BOTH a living faith and historic. There, it now corrected.
