Catholic Charities wants to care for about 50 children from Central America at a campus in Baltimore County, seeking a role in the immigration crisis even though the consideration of other sites in Maryland has met with fierce local opposition.
The organization plans to apply to federal officials to house the children at St. Vincent's Villa, a residential facility on Dulaney Valley Road, Catholic Charities head William J. McCarthy Jr. confirmed Thursday night.
McCarthy said housing the children would amount to his organization doing its job.
"Our role and our mission is to meet the needs of these children," he said. "This is obviously the result of things beyond my control policies and political posturing that has left these children as victims."

From Charity Navigator:
And, while I've said it before, let me remind you of the Anti-Deficiency Act:
The Antideficiency Act prohibits federal employees from
- making or authorizing an expenditure from, or creating or authorizing an obligation under, any appropriation or fund in excess of the amount available in the appropriation or fund unless authorized by law. 31 U.S.C. § 1341(a)(1)(A).
- involving the government in any obligation to pay money before funds have been appropriated for that purpose, unless otherwise allowed by law. 31 U.S.C. § 1341(a)(1)(B).
- accepting voluntary services for the United States, or employing personal services not authorized by law, except in cases of emergency involving the safety of human life or the protection of property. 31 U.S.C. § 1342.
- making obligations or expenditures in excess of an apportionment or reapportionment, or in excess of the amount permitted by agency regulations. 31 U.S.C. § 1517(a).
Hopefully you can fill in the blanks for yourselves.

It appears that every church in this country is scrambling to get in on the illegal immigration caring business. I’m wondering why? Then I realized; “LOOK FOR THE MONEY”. The federal government is throwing money at this like a bunch of drunken sailors, so the churches might as well get in the act. THERE’S MILLIONS TO BE MADE
Ironically, this is precisely why this particular organization has lost a number of key court battles over its opposition to government policies (recognizing same-sex "marriages," providing insurance coverage for birth control and abortifacients, etc.) that run afoul of Catholic moral teachings. An objective look at its finances and organizational structure will confirm that there's really nothing "Catholic" about it.
The Vatican. That’s where the RC Church needs to ship illegals.
Is the Catholic Church going to pay for this or are they going to foot the bill? Catholic Charities is on the taxpayer dole for their phony “charities.”
It is against the law (the Anti-Deficiency Act) for HHS to allow Catholic Charities to do this without cost.

Maryland “Freak State” PING!
I’ll be gone until early August, so you can look up Maryland articles under:

Thanks.
Strange bedfellows... Obama and “faith based” initiatives. I saw in another thread where tax-payer money is being doled out to Catholic Charities as well as the Baptists and other faith based initiatives for the care of these illegals. More than likely, the stop off before disappearance. And then when these illegals disappear into the woodwork, the DEMONrats will blame the faith base organizations. Clever! ...and devious.
CC is bringing these children here for a “temporary” stay.
The Head Nun said that nobody will be paying for it. HHS will be providing food and clothes will be donated.
Wait....HHS is Government and therefore our tax dollars will be going to buy food for these kids.
I don’t want to sound like a ice cold SOB, but why don’t CC go to the countries these kids are escaping and help down there?
Saying there is free stuff here is like waving a bag of goodies from across a Highway and telling the kids that if they don’t get hit crossing it, they can have it.
Mark...please ping your list to this...For everyone’s info...
It’s not only Catholics sucked up into this charade... it’s the Baptists and others as well.
Where is Jesus with his whip when you need him?
My mother used to work here.
Stella Maris campus houses many “delinquents” and the like.
She was a teacher at the end of her career here at the middle school of Villa Maria. She liked it (except the low-class principal of the last year).
I cannot imagine what she thinks of this. Wait till she finds out.
I would hate if she was working there. I can just imagine - pass the germs to the kids living there, some of whom go to the middle school, then to my mom.
I despise all these liberal commies.
Why don’t these “Catholics” think about the domino effects of their charity? What kind of charity is that?
“Catholics have been caring for the children of immigrants in Maryland since the 1800s”
Bet your bottom dollar THEY WERE NOT ILLEGALS!
Notice some Methodists are already holding some kind of illegals nearby.
If your summary is correct, then I don’t think your conclusion is.
CC is not a “federal employee”.
FYI, I just called into the local Tom Marr show on WCBM to discuss this!
>>” CC is not a federal employee.”
The “federal employee” who would be accepting the voluntary services is HHS. What I said was that JUST is not allowed to accept free services from Catholic Charities....Catholic Charities is perfectly allowed to odder them, but if HHS accepts,.by law, they have to pay Catholic Charities.
And I’m reasonably sure that Catholic Charities of Baltimore knows that
Welcome to Maryland! The NOT SO ($$$$) Free State!
