You are suggesting that an over-abundance of workers will lead to slavery.
I’ve always thought that illegal immigration is a direct form of slavery. Illegal aliens are paid less than the minimum wage. That is why they find jobs here...because employers pay them less than the legal amount.
While I am not advocating the concept of a minimum wage, that fact that the illegals are paid less than the rule of law, is a form of slavery.

I think that what you describe is a type of exploitation, that can devolve into slavery for the workers and the ones replaced.
