Indeed. The welfare and loss of tax revenue from lazy bums that otherwise would’ve been contributors is where the real impact will be. It won’t be so in your face though, it’ll just be a general worsening standard of living for us all.

But to a liberaltarian that’s a price worth paying of course.

This is an interesting comment too.

The same logic was used to outlaw alcohol just over a century ago.

I think cigs, alcohol and pot should all be illegal for the reason you cite.

Society would be much better if no one used these things.

Seriously, I’d vote today to make all three illegal. But it has to be all three or people will simply gravitate to whichever is legal.

Actually, a libertarian would say that the citizenry should be free to smoke if they so wish... and that no citizen should be forced to pay for the care of any other citizen at all. Those who want their choices subsidized by the general public are called liberals, not libertarians. Learn the difference.
