The greatest challenge facing Israel in its current battle against Hamas is the world’s absurd moral equivalence between a righteous democracy trying to protect its citizens from indiscriminate rocket fire and a genocidal terror organization committed to murdering Jews and destroying the State of Israel.
Last week I published a column criticizing the Obama Administration for its calls for mutual restraint on the part of both parties, as if Israel and Hamas can in any way be compared. I received criticism and pushback from personal friends who work in the Administration saying I was misrepresenting what the Obama Administration had said about the conflict.
But here are the facts, assembled from personal research as well as non-partisan position papers on the conflict that were expertly produced by AIPAC.
It begins with President Obama himself taking the highly unusual step on July 8 by publishing an op-ed in Haaretz days before their peace conference where he said, “…at this dangerous moment, all parties must protect the innocent and act with reasonableness and restraint, not vengeance and retribution.” That is a curious thing for the leader of the free world to say about a terrorist organization.

That does not prevent Israel, on the other hand, of responding with lethal force against the Islamic Terrorists who engage in their acts of terrorism.

NEW YORK — Ambassador Ron Dermer, Israel’s chief diplomatic representative in the U.S., asked some 700 American Jews on a conference call this week for their help shifting the messaging on Israel. Israel is being routinely portrayed in both conventional and social media as an angry, well-armed giant leaving many innocent victims in its wake during the current crisis with Hamas, Dermer said.
The call was organized by the Jewish Federations of North America, which this week sent federation leaders to visit targeted towns in Israel, and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs. Dermer told his audience that Hamas may be winning the war over public opinion, as Israel is vilified for the civilian casualties its bombs cause in Gaza, while Hamas is not being blamed for instructing Palestinians to stay in their homes – even when they have been warned by the IDF that the locations will be bombed imminently.
“Hamas is putting its missile batteries and command centers next to schools and hospitals. That is a major war crime. While we are doing everything possible to keep civilians out of harms way, Hamas is trying to put their people into harms way. Gaza’s interior minister said people should ignore warnings and go back into their homes. We are taking action to minimize to the greatest extent possible number of civilian casualties, they are doing everything to maximize it.”

I wonder what definition of “pummel” they are using.
Honestly, is it any surprise to anyone that this generation of juveniles running the white house are committed to “playing fair” above all else, and of course no one side being stronger or better than the other, etc etc, after their upbringing of feeling sorry for the “losers” in sports and games, etc. Indeed there can be no losers. No wonder they freak out at Israel actually hurting their mortal enemy when attacked, after all, “it’s not FAIR”!! Israel has better weaponry and such!

SO ... In other words, you won’t find the same kind of thing going on with Al Qaida, but the formula magically changes when it’s Israel and Hamas!
Nobody in their right mind can possibly believe anything he says anymore - so they’ve reached the point where they don’t bother to even listen much. Why give yourself a headache for nothing?
