Netanyahu: Hamas wants ‘telegenically dead Palestinians’p

Prime minister says Hamas seeks as many casualties as possible to be displayed by the world media.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged Sunday that Hamas was callously making use of Palestinian casualties for the sake of the visual impact in television images and called on the international community to intervene and demilitarize the Gaza Strip.

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Netanyahu accused Hamas of a cynical disregard for human life.

“These people are the worst terrorists — genocidal terrorists,” he said. “They call for the destruction of Israel and they call for the killing of every Jew, wherever they can find them.”

“They want to pile up as many civilian dead as they can,” the prime minister continued. “They use telegenically dead Palestinians for their cause. They want the more dead, the better.”

Netanyahu pointed out that Israel had allowed cement into Gaza for the purpose of constructing buildings, schools, and hospitals, but Hamas terrorists diverted it for use in tunnels.

“They put seven hundred tons of concrete into each one of these terror attack tunnels to penetrate Israel,” he said. “Now we’ve discovered dozens of them, so you’re talking about tens of thousands of tons of concrete instead of going to the benefit of the school, the population, going for terrorism against Israel.”

Adding that Hamas terrorists “don’t care” about the death and destruction that they have brought down on the local population, he suggested that the international community should “undertake a program to demilitarize Gaza.”

This is looking worse for Israel every day, as the anti-Israel media is happy to play along to the Arab song. But Bibi cannot stop now. Not again. He has to see this through, even if the wildly inflated “death toll” hits 1000

Dead children as props?

The world’s sick of Palestinians running through the streets for hours carrying the same dead child. Who in hell uses a dead child as a prop?

Monsters.

That’s who...

THIS is what the prime minister of Israel should be talking about on camera.

IMHO, diminishing the deaths of children saying the Palestinians want and use this is really beneath the stature of his office.

If this is Israel's message, then others should carry it. Not the prime minister.

No it isn’t, it is the essence of what Arabs do, and people need to wake up and see that.

This “message” just came up in the last few days, so I imagine it will take a while to get traction. And this is a long-term goal and will be something that the different countries will have to work on with Israel over a period of time. They’ll still be working on that goal a long time after the IDF incursion into Gaza is over.

Israel needs to improve its own propaganda to compete with Hamas’s.

Hamas may use ‘’telegenically dead’’ children to try to pull at the heartstrings of the world, but Israel now has a ‘’telegenically dead’’ donkey — the donkey that was killed when Hamas strapped explosives to it and pushed it through a tunnel to try to kill Israelis.

As we know, liberals don’t get particularly upset when children die — whether in the womb, on Chicago’s South Side, or the area around our southern border where the bodies of illegal immigrant children abound. But animals are a different story.

Many liberals are vegetarians because they revere animals to such an extent that they believe it’s an abomination to eat them, and of course to kill them. At least liberals hold SOMETHING sacred. Yet there was Hamas blowing up an innocent donkey.

Israel needs to get photos of that poor four-legged victim of Hamas’s brutality all over the world’s airwaves and front pages. Israeli officials should at least mention the atrocity whenever they’re interviewed in order to point out the level of savagery Israel has to deal with.

Bibi knows that he can’t rely on America anymore..the second Obama was elected he knew..and he knows the media loves portraying the Palestinians as victims..Hamas knows how to play them and its working, hook, line, and sinker..Israel knows that its not about Hamas, its about IRAN..Iran needs a distraction so they can continue building nukes, they have Hamas in their pocket to create this diversion and its working

On the contrary, exposing the truth about these monsters is necessary. Nobody else is going to do it.

I disagree. This message is best spread by Netanyahu's ministers...not by the Prime Minister himself.

Netanyahu has fought for years to be a "player" among world leaders. When he diminishes the deaths of toddlers because Palestinian mothers and fathers want them dead for a photo op....well, Bibi diminishes Israel AND his rank among leaders.

It's not the Prime Minister's place to judge the depth of loss and feelings of Palestinian parents, grandparents and family. Bibi should simply acknowledge this loss as a universal loss.

Such an acknowledgement from Netanyahu would give deeper credence to his reasons for the goals of this war without crowding the issue with "proof" of the legitimacy of the death of children.

Shalom.

He didn't say any such thing. He specifically said he was talking about Hamas terrorists. And it's true. Israel has been warning civilians near launch sites to leave the area, going so far as to call them ahead of time, and shoot inert rockets on rooftops as warning. Hamas responded by issuing a "warning" to Palestinian civilians that these were just Zionist tricks to get them to leave their homes, and anyone leaving their homes would be severely dealt with--by Hamas. It's totally appropriate for Bibi to tell the world what these people are. As for other ministers, nobody outside of Israel with hear anything they say. If Bibi says it, maybe it will make the foreign media.
