Migrant Crisis Expands North From Border, Into Arid Texas Wilderness
By MOLLY HENNESSY-FISKE 70 miles north of the border, a Texas county finds itself overwhelmed by 911 calls from lost migrants Since 2009, Texas' Brooks County has found the bodies of more than 400 immigrants Daniel Zamarripa loaded his police dog into the back of his patrol car and set out to track his quarry immigrants circumventing the local Border Patrol checkpoint.
Zamarripa, 27, is one of 15 reserve deputies brought in to assist the Brooks County Sheriff's Office, whose four deputies have lately found themselves overwhelmed by 911 calls from migrants stranded on the vast ranches that stretch from here to the horizon in all directions.
Then there are the bodies of migrants who didn't make it to retrieve and identify: 42 so far this year.
Most attention to the crisis on the Southwest border has focused in recent weeks on the Rio Grande Valley, where many of the 57,000 unaccompanied children and a large number of families have crossed from Mexico since October, twice last year's total. Many surrender to immigration agents willingly at the Rio Grande, aware that they will be allowed to stay pending immigration court hearings.

He can’t go on real vacay in Taxachusetts until Ramadan is over....
A FUNCTIONAL OPPOSITION PARTY would use hang these deaths right around the president’s neck.
He invited this surge and REAL PEOPLE are dying because of it.
I’m confused. Which is it? Are the INVADERS “migrants” or “refugees” this week?
As the article points out, this is at the checkpoint far north of the border. The coyote brings them north, and about 5-10 miles south of the checkpoint they get out and hike a circle around the checkpoint, and the coyote picks them up 5-10 miles north of the checkpoint.
Back in the old days, all the check points were rovers. They would set them up in different places. But eventually the checkpoints became permanent.
So any landowner/rancher located close to these checkpoints, get huge numbers illegals crossing their property to hike around the checkpoints.
I know the area and I’ve been through the interior checkpoints many times. Dogs too are now a permanent fixture there.
You are right, but we can still some fun with the optics.
I pray that President Allen West and Senate Majority Leader Ted Cruz can help reverse this mess.
When I was a teenager we would drive down to acuna for you know what, wink-wink. Then smuggle back booze and cigarettes. We got stopped at one of the roaming checkpoints and they found our contraband and seized it, but they let us go without any charges.
Enough! !!
Show me the pictures of these pre-teens and teens.
All I’ve seen so far are photos of adults.
