At what level of statistical significance?
Ask the labor department. Theyre the ones cooking the books.
Let me guess, most of these jobs are PT jobs that maybe will get 15-20 hrs/wk?
Here in Florida I added 8 employees ....all part time at minimum wage...to replace the 4 full time $1.00 above minimum wage positions that Obamacare encouraged me to eliminate.
No it didn’t.
So let’s raise the minimum wage to $50/hour.
Part time lower paying jobs picked up since the full-time better paid employees were let go/cut back to part time and businesses still had labor hours to fill.
Plus they omit mention of and the normal adjustment for the summer seasonal jobs increase.
replacing 2 full time workers with 3 part time workers is “growth” to the left.
Why is Fox reporting this convoluted clap trap?
Sure. What kind of jobs? How does raising the minimum wage create jobs? How much of the workforce really benefits?
That’ll last until this time next week when they realize the cost of living in those areas increased right along with the min wage increase.
How many are full time jobs?
Oh, did I mention, the minimum wage there is about $20 / hour.
ALL raising the minimum wage does is increase the cost of everything and those getting minimum wage end up no better off than they were before!
WHEN will someone with intelligence find their way into government service?
I’ve worked at minimum wage jobs when I was still working and every time the minimum wage was raised our hours were cut
And those making above minimum wage slowly slip into poverty. It’s war against the middle class, who the elites in power truly fear, the middle class is pure power when organized. If minwage sets the floor of the cost of living, and minwage is $1, I make $10, I make 10x minwage and live comfortably. Raise it +$5, if I don’t receive an adjustment I’m making less than 2x minwage, prices soar, I become much poorer as the floor has just been slammed upward. (Even w/adjustment of +5 I’m only 3x minwage.)
Obama voids law of gravity in states that raise minimum wage... If we’re going to lie, let’s make it a good one, eh?
I’ve always had a little trouble feeling sorry for someone who lives in an area where there are no jobs. I understand not wanting to leave your family to work elsewhere but there are jobs available in other parts of the country and it doesn’t have to be forever. They should haul their butts up to North Dakota or West Texas and work in the oil patch. Sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Think about our guys in the military who go off and leave their families while they are deployed.
Raising the min wage is worse than leaving it be because every dime you have in savings gets chopped.
