If the city was to provide “free” water the citizens would still pay for it through higher taxes - and there would be a lot more water waste.

Higher taxes from whom?

There is NO tax base there. Little or no employment. The city is dying.

And the liberals still dont see it, still demand the VERY SAME path of death-continuation.

Such is the future of an immoral people.

But if paid for by higher taxes, surely they would not be impacted. The burden would fall on the “rich” and the working man, not them. This is just another cry for more free stuff. They can’t pay for water but I’ll bet they have plenty of money for other purchases. Our government has failed this nation by promoting dependency on others. Those who want and promote socialism either sit at the top or expect to be sitting there. Increase the masses of the poor and ignorant, fill them with hate and envy, paint them as victims, throw them a bone and you will have their vote. Look at our major cities who expanded social programs and welfare. What did they get in return? A large population of unemployable, frequently criminal, and dependent citizens. And what did our cities get in return? A massive exodus of the working class resulting in lower tax revenues. And who benefitted from these policies? Corrupt politicians and their friends. And now that the city is ruined, where do they go? To the next highest level of government, the state level. From there to the national level, and eventually a ruined nation. If we are to survive as a nation, this cancer must be stopped. America must once again be a “ can do” nation rather then a “ can’t do” one.

Yeah but that way only 50% of the population would be paying for everyones ‘free’ water. At least theoretically on paper based on the number of taxpayers. In Detroit maybe even fewer pay taxes.
