A growing issue capturing headlines across the country is now back in the spotlight in Rochester.
Monday morning, Mayor Lovely Warren will be briefed on the possibility of the former Blossom South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center housing immigrant children.
According to statement from City Hall, members of Warren's staff were contacted by representatives of the owner of the former nursing home. They asked if the City had any interest in getting behind an idea to turn the complex into a home for kids in the U.S. illegally and without their parents.
When Mayor Warren was asked about the issue last week, she said she was open to the idea. She said Rochester is a City of great culture enriched with many refugee and immigrant communities.
An empty warehouse in Greece and a former Walmart in the Town of Sweden were also up for consideration but have since been taken off the table.

Wait until the start of the school year when illegal immigrant kids not speaking a word of English, illiterate in their own language and having communicable diseases show up in local schools across the country.

Why just the city of Rochester? There’s got to be much more room available in Pittsford, Perinton, Penfield. In fact, barry’s probably about to do one of those royal proclamations to annex oak hill country club to set up a tent city.
