Iraqi forces retake Tikrit base

IRAQI special forces secured full control of a crucial former US military base on the outskirts of Tikrit, officials said yesterday.
Camp Speicher, the headquarters for US forces in northern Iraq during the 2003 invasion and subsequent war, has become a focal point in the fight between Iraqi forces and Islamist militants.

If I was ISIS, I would pull all the important equipment out of Tiqrit and let the Iraqi’s retake it, while I concentrate on securing oil fields. Then when they move a bunch more humvees, radios, etc back into the base I would take it again. But that’s just me.
