Theres a kind of hush over Israel at the moment. The streets are emptier; the cars are honking less; cafes are not deserted but theyre quieter; young kids laughter in the little park near our office rings out startlingly loud and carefree.
Were a nation glued to the news to the TV, the radio, the internet. And its almost unremittingly grim. Just a few days ago, we were worrying about hundreds of rockets hitting all over Israel, and shaking our heads at the mini-miracle of Iron Dome intercepting most of them. Now its the residents of the kibbutzim and moshavim close to the Gaza border, and the thousands of soldiers inside the Strip, who are the focus of our frantic attention, emphatically on the front line, their lives in constant danger.
What we are now starting to call attack tunnels are being discovered all the time long, sophisticated underground passages, dug out over months, even years, running from under homes in the dense Gaza neighborhoods like Shejaiya within a mile or so of the border, and up under the Israeli side, some with multiple exits, some directed under the homes and dining halls at those kibbutzim and moshavim: Erez, Nir Oz, Nirim, Ein Hashelosha

Prevail?!!! hahaha... let's see how long will your soldiers take this... this is just a start... and they way you guys are acting like drama queens you won't be able to survive this for long... your soldiers will die and rot in hell.. while the Palestinians you are killing and stealing their land are sent straight to heaven... you've been trying to wipe us out along with Obama and his friends for over 60 years and that didn't do you any good... Palestinians are willing to happily give their lives for this country... the more and more they loose (family, friends, houses, mosques, schools...etc ) the more they become fearless ... they've got nothing else to loose...on the other hand you're too busy worrying about your emptier coffee shops ... your problem is that you are too attached to this life to realise the beauty of dying for this country... go back to the desert and search for another country to occupy... and if you're so devastated for the death of these couple of soldiers... then be prepared as more are coming on the way...
Pray for the peace and protection of Israel.
Now where is that Freeper who kept calling Horowitz anti-Semitic?

My mistake, thanks for pointing it out.
There is no so-called palestine, but for the Roman appellation. Nor are there any so-called palestinians but for various conglomerations of predominantly islamist arabs which Israel has decided, for whatever God-forsaken reason, it must put-up with.
Well, listen to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ... he calls those people Palestinians. Listen to the IDF ... they call those people Palestinians. Look at the official documents for the Israeli government for the last twenty years ... they all call those people Palestinians.
When you go back before the end of the “Palestine” Mandate, the people in that area were called Palestinian Arabs and Palestinian Jews. When Israel became an independent nation, “Palestinian Jew” was simply changed to “Israeli” and “Palestinian Arab” was simply changed to “Palestinian”.
Even the present day Jerusalem Post was originally called the Palestine Post. The announcement of the Declaration of Independence for Israel in 1948 was printed in the “Palestine Post”.
The Balfour Declaration said that the Jews should have a national home in “Palestine”. The Declaration of Independence for Israel referred to the Balfour Declaration for one of their legal justifications for independence.
The League of Nations formed the “Mandate for PALESTINE” ... also which Israel used in its justification for a nation and homeland.
You may not personally like the term, but it is SOLIDLY LINKED with the modern history of Israel in just about every way.
It’s rooted in the term “Philistia” from the Romans and it included essentially the entire Gaza strip.
Insofar as its exclusivity, the so-call Palestinians took it up as a national front identification from the early sixties.
They’re still nothing but a bunch of disaffected, inbred islamist arabs to me.
No matter how it came about, no matter what the original reason was and no matter whether you like it or not in this 21st century ... it is thoroughly rooted in history, and thoroughly rooted in the writings of the time period during which the Jews started returning in large numbers to the land (mid-1800s to present) and thoroughly rooted in the documents that Israel uses for their legal justification in the modern world ... and ... the Israelis use it everyday in all their normal conversations without any qualms as to its usage.
You can consider them anything you want ... but it doesn’t change the usage of the term.
Thanks. I will and do.
