ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota Democratic congressman is leading efforts to bring to the state more unaccompanied children who've fled Central America for the U.S.
However, immigration advocates and nonprofit groups that serve refugees are concerned Minnesota might not be able to handle a crush of children who need care and have complex legal issues.
Rep. Keith Ellison says Minnesota is as well-equipped as any other state to handle the children. The Democratic congressman has been a leader in the national push for immigration reform.
"We have capacity to help here and we should," Ellison said Monday at a community meeting at a nonprofit that serves Latinos in Minneapolis.
Alicia Bauers, a case manager for children's mental health services at Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, questions that capacity, saying it's difficult to provide basic services for immigrants already in the state, according to the Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/UlCG0M ).

“Nice” as in “Minnsota Nice” is codespeak for “give us more tax money without complaining”.
Usually said by someone who feels more than thinks and considers themselves very religous if not , ‘spiritual’.
The Twin Cities are already filled with immigrants..mainly from Somalia. If Elison wants to take in these kids I suggest the Governor’s mansion has plenty of room and much of the state capitol building is sitting empty. Gov. Dayton surely has several homes that aren’t fully occupied, let him lead by example.
Sounds like the ‘Rats are in competition with each other, vying for future voters. ‘Rats can be, well, ‘Rats to each other in the ‘Rat race for votes.

Yes. I was about to point out that Minnesota has such a great track record with the Somali refugees, it is a no-brainer that we reach out to the South American “migrants” also.
We already have an overly generous policy on social service participation/payments. How much more can we take?

Every government employee in Minnesota should be allowed to take in three or four “illegals.” They can afford it.
