I remember when the east side was conservative.

There was a time when they were. Combined with eastern WA, there was at least some balance in the state's vote. However, looking at Nov 2012's vote, they've swung left with Seattle, making WA's middle/right electorate pretty much non competitive.

Watch for more left iniatives to pass easily (and you thought legal pot was liberal)

I believe the article is referring to the east side of the Seattle metro area...Eastern Washington is still very conservative.

Bellevue is now 33.3% foreign born.

Asian Indians are the leading ethnic group.

In 2008, they voted 90% for Obama, here, and nationally.

White voters are not quite that bad, but bad enough at about 70% Democrat.

The only “Republican” elected in my Congressional District is white state senator who co-sponsored our gay marriage legislation.
