A pox on both of them.
Add in Sunni vs Islamic State, Christians vs. Islamic State, Kurds vs Islamic State and Shia Iraq vs. Islamic state.
I am not saying that everything will go back to 2012 boarders. However I believe their was a lot of nodding and winking from Kurds and Iraqi Sunni's as ISIS rolled across Mesopotamia. Now these groups will fight for ISIS territory. They will have a lose alignment with Shias in Iraq and Syria. After ISIS is killed off, phase III of the civil war.
