European airlines extend Ben-Gurion flights ban as Israel mulls diverting plans to Eilat

Air France and Germany's two largest airlines on Wednesday canceled more flights to Tel Aviv because of ongoing safety concerns amid the fighting between Israel and Hamas.

Germany's Lufthansa and Air Berlin extended their cancelations through Thursday and Air France said it was suspending its flights "until further notice."

Polish state airline LOT also said Wednesday that it has suspended its flights to Israel from Warsaw until Monday because of concern for passengers' safety.

"This is caused by the tense situation in the region," LOT added in a statement. "The connection will be re-established as soon as possible and when we are sure that our operations are hundred percent safe."

Lufthansa said its decision applies also to its subsidiaries Germanwings, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Brussels Airlines. In all, 20 flights from Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels were cancelled for Thursday.

The airline initially had suspended flights for 36 hours through the end of Wednesday. Those cancelations were extended because "at the current time there is no sufficiently reliable new information that would justify a resumption of air operations," Lufthansa said.

It looks like Israel will divert flights to an airport out of range for the Hamas rockets!

It looks like the pro-Hamas Obama/USStateDept
boycott of Israel proceeds - as predicted.

Is it not enough that the EU, UN and Obama
bought the missiles and the tunnels which
extend to israeli kindergartens?

The USA does not supply or send money or armaments to Hamas in Gaza. In fact, just recently the USA stopped a large transfer of money to Hamas from another country!

US blocked Qatari funds intended for Hamas employee

http://www.timesofisrael.com/us-blocked-qatari-funds-intended-for-hamas-employees/

The United States has blocked the transfer of Qatari funds earmarked for the salaries of civil servants hired by Hamas in Gaza, The Times of Israel has learned.

A diplomatic source in the Gulf state, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Qatar had transferred hundreds of millions of dollars to Arab Bank for the salaries of some 44,000 Hamas civil servants. Those civil servants — employed by Hamas in Gaza since its takeover of the Strip in 2007 – were rendered jobless by the unity agreement with Fatah last month.

But the money was never processed by Arab Bank and delivered to Hamas, the source told The Times of Israel, due to pressure from the Americans, who consider Hamas a terror organization.

“This is strange, since funds from Qatar have never been blocked in the past,” the source said, referring to the $400 million aid package pledged by Qatari ruler Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa during his visit to Gaza in October 2012.

Hamas’s deputy political bureau chief Moussa Abu Marzouk lambasted Arab Bank for neglecting to process the funds in comments posted on his Facebook page June 28.

This is a slightly outdated map, because the Hamas rockets can reach Tel Aviv and Jerusalem now, but this airport is out of range ...

Your empty denial is overwhelmed by Benghazi,
by the release of the Cole bombers,
by the terrorists entering over the border,
by the US support of the Moslem Brotherhood,
and the “rebels”, etc. etc.

The USA supports Hamas both by $$$$$$$$$$$
and by Obama’s and Huma’s/Clinton’s LOVE of them.

I don't think this is as sinister as a boycott. But it is something the majority of Western nations (not just the US) who are looking for ways to help end this war have not had anywhere: leverage.

Hamas is a designated foreign terrorist organization with the USA. This carries legal ramifications in our law in the USA and there are severe penalties for anyone supporting them with arms or money.

The USA not only does not “do it” (in terms of supplying Hamas with money or arms), they go beyond that and have listed Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization, and have those legal penalties.

Foreign Terrorist Organizations
http://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/other/des/123085.htm

Legal Criteria for Designation under Section 219 of the INA as amended

It must be a foreign organization.

The organization must engage in terrorist activity, as defined in section 212 (a)(3)(B) of the INA (8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(3)(B)),* or terrorism, as defined in section 140(d)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1988 and 1989 (22 U.S.C. § 2656f(d)(2)),** or retain the capability and intent to engage in terrorist activity or terrorism.

The organization’s terrorist activity or terrorism must threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security (national defense, foreign relations, or the economic interests) of the United States.

Legal Ramifications of Designation

It is unlawful for a person in the United States or subject to the jurisdiction of the United States to knowingly provide “material support or resources” to a designated FTO. (The term “material support or resources” is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(1) as “ any property, tangible or intangible, or service, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities, financial services, lodging, training, expert advice or assistance, safehouses, false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel (1 or more individuals who maybe or include oneself), and transportation, except medicine or religious materials.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(2) provides that for these purposes “the term ‘training’ means instruction or teaching designed to impart a specific skill, as opposed to general knowledge.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(3) further provides that for these purposes the term ‘expert advice or assistance’ means advice or assistance derived from scientific, technical or other specialized knowledge.’’

Representatives and members of a designated FTO, if they are aliens, are inadmissible to and, in certain circumstances, removable from the United States (see 8 U.S.C. §§ 1182 (a)(3)(B)(i)(IV)-(V), 1227 (a)(1)(A)).

Any U.S. financial institution that becomes aware that it has possession of or control over funds in which a designated FTO or its agent has an interest must retain possession of or control over the funds and report the funds to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Other Effects of Designation

Supports our efforts to curb terrorism financing and to encourage other nations to do the same.

Stigmatizes and isolates designated terrorist organizations internationally.

Deters donations or contributions to and economic transactions with named organizations.

Heightens public awareness and knowledge of terrorist organizations.

Signals to other governments our concern about named organizations.

and there are severe penalties for anyone supporting them with arms or money...

That is why it is so effective when done from the white house, directed by president jarrett, and performed by Ø. Oh, not directly and publicly, but clandestinely and thru proxies and indirect ways... arms change hands and wind up in Hamas's possession, and kept under covers by news enemedia like MSNBC.

The US has been one of the major funding sources for Hamas since Obama came to office and gave them $900 million.

It isn’t even credible to argue that the US is not a funding source for Hamas.

You always seem to confuse humanitarian aid to the Palestinians with aid to Hamas ... :-) ... and Israel allows humanitarian aid go in Gaza all the time.

Or the other confusion you have is with the Palestinian Authority and Abbas, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to keep in place in Judea and Samaria to administer the Palestinian population there.

And then the other confusion you have is the “unity pact” which the PA used for foreign consumption, but maintained control over the territories and wouldn’t let Hamas have any control at all.

The only place Hamas has any kind of control is in Gaza, and Egypt is working with Israel to place Abbas and the Palestinian Authority in control of the Gaza side of the Egypt-Gaza border.

You need to “get up to speed” on these things ... :-) ...

Add in Syrian M 302 (302 mm (1 ft) diameter) rockets with range of 160 km (100 miles). Puts 3/4 of Israel in range

Downside is rockets are rather large 5m (16 ft) weighing
1500 lbs so easier to spot when being transported or setup to fire

One of the problems about someone saying that you do something so totally secret that there is nothing to document it happening, is that one can say absolutely anything for what anyone might be doing ... :-) ...

I mean, we could say that the government has some underground cities of space aliens that they have agreements with from other star systems and that they are keeping it from the public. Or that we’re actually flying around advanced flying saucers from other space civilization that we had captured or made a deal with to keep their presence here secret.

Now, I can maintain that and all you can say is that you don’t believe it, but you can’t disprove what I say about these space aliens living on our planet, because it’s so secret ... LOL ...

We could have a whole lot of fun with that kind if “secret information” and I could tell you about all the top secret stuff I know ... :-) ...

We could keep busy with threads about that until “Kingdom come”

That’s a good reason for me to never get into all those — “you don’t know because it’s top secret” discussions. I’ll stick with what is reported to the public in a very provable fashion.

NOW ... having said that, I know that there are other terrorist groups out there that we’ve helped. Those are documented and are not top secret (where a person can say “anything”). For example, I know we helped the terrorists, the Mujahideen in Afghanistan against the Soviets, and that came back to bite us in the rear with 9/11.

And I know that we’ve helped terrorists in Libya and Syria and that is going to come back to bite us in the rear end, too.

And from that, I know weapons can spread in ways you don’t want them to and that’s the danger of doing that kind if stuff.

But, in all that, I also know that the USA is not shipping arms and money to Hamas in Gaza — NOT UNLESS — you agree with me that the USA has underground cities of space aliens, who, the USA has agreed to allow a certain number if US citizens to be kidnapped for space alien experimentation on humans ... LOL ...

Obama’s alleged red line for Iran was four days ago

Instead he gave them BILLIONS of tax dollars
to send missiles to Hamas and make nukes.

Do you work in, or for,
the White House or the State Dept.?

Obama is a royal screwup for a President and I’ve seen the horrible moves he’s made in many places around the Middle East, but in recognizing all that (which I’ve posted strongly against him on those things on Free Republic in the past) ... there’s nothing that shows the USA is shipping arms or money to Hamas in Gaza.

There are definitely others who are involved, but not the USA.

As I’ve posted here before, the USA should be teaming up with Israel and destroy the nuclear weapons facilities in Iran with a bombing campaign.
