Marquette poll: Scott Walker in dead heat with Mary Burke for Wisconsin gubernatorial race

Dead heat.

That's what Wisconsin is staring at in the race for governor, with Gov. Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke neck-and-neck heading into the November election, according to the latest Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday.

Among registered voters, Walker led Burke, 46% to 45%. Among likely voters, Burke led Walker, 47% to 46%.

"The bottom line is that nothing has statistically changed from May to July," said Charles Franklin, the poll director. "We're seeing a dead heat in the race, well within the margin of error."

"As the race really heats up with advertising and back and forth, I'd expect to see interesting developments over the next months," he added.

In the May sample, the race took shape as the Republican incumbent was first deadlocked with Burke, a member of the Madison School Board. The two candidates recorded 46% each, with 6% undecided. Back then, Walker led Burke among likely voters by 48% to 45%.

He’s not going to lose. I can guarantee it. Wisconsinites are FED UP with Dems at ALL levels.

We will be voting in DROVES, as we did in the BOGUS recall election. :)

What exactly is she going to change. Just spend more. She is not advocating; changing any of the laws he brought in.

Between now and Labor Day, both sides will go on a dirt digging expedition. If they find anything worth talking about, or sufficiently distracting, we will know by the first part of October. It’s how they operate. I guess I want Walker to win. He was such a RINO.

If the polls are showing a dead heat then its a safe bet the Republican candidate is ahead.

What any of these polls fail to account for is turnout. The republicans will turn out at least 10% more voters than the democrats so factor that in.

Let me just say this. It is in the financial interest of the media and polling firms to have a horse race. I have watched the local Milwaukee paper steadily ratchet up the heat on this campaign. Making much out of nothing. They know that a lot of money gets poured into their coffers in advertising with a “hot race”.

The Milwaukee paper also owns TV and radio outlets and other papers. There’s not a lot of money to be fleeced from a political race with a clear leader and little interest.

From the article:........"We're seeing a dead heat in the race, well within the margin of error.".....

I would call that "Well within the margin of fraud"

American voters have demonstrated that they simply will not accept more than three consecutive 4 year terms of good government and that two consecutive 4 year terms of good government is really pushing it.

Scott Walker synonymous with outstanding government so it is hard to see how he gets another term.

Put nothing past the DIMocRATs. They will do anything to win. They are soul-less and moral-less ghouls of the first order.

The 15% Democrat vote fraud also needs to be factored.

Dem +8 poll. Designed to keep Dem fund raising and hopes up. The professor who leads this poll, claims to be neutral. Inside sources say he’s as left as all other UW-Madison professors. Despite the name Marquette poll, it is run by a UW Madison prof.

The Milwaukee Urinal slams Walker and praises Burke daily. We are used to it here in WI.
Scott is going to win and once again, the haters will be defeated.
And I predict that it’ll be by a more comfortable margin that expected: six to seven percentage points.
The GOP is hitting Burke hard on her Trek affiliation and outsourcing. It should stick with some low information voters or at least get some moderate Dems to stay home in November.

Mary Burke is the heir to the Trek bicycle fortune. She is a limousine liberal.

I’ve been a Wisconsin resident my whole life. The only thing Wisc. Dems do is find more ways to waste taxpayer money. Of course, that’s not different from other Dems.
