The doctor should remind the hospital that as a CCW holder he was the first at the scene of the attempted murder and resisted the attack to save his life and those of others. He does not have a duty to become a murder victim because the brain dead fools who run the hospital are hoplophobes (have an unreasoning fear of weapons [guns]). If the hospital wants to fire him for disobeying policy, they will make this doctor a very rich man. Especially when the cops are on the doctor's side.
