A UC Riverside-led team of researchers says it has found conclusive evidence that a naturally produced enzyme in the body is responsible for autism and other neurological disorders in people with Fragile X syndrome.

Fragile X is a mutation of the X chromosome associated with obsessive-compulsive and repetitive behaviors as well as learning deficits. People affected by Fragile X have been shown to have structural differences in brain cells, such as underdeveloped neural receptors.

The study is the cover story for the latest edition of the Journal of Neuroscience.

Often, such discoveries are the first step in a long process. Just understanding a mechanism for a particular disease or disorder doesn’t necessarily mean a treatment is imminent. Effective therapies or drugs can be many years away.

In recent years, however, it was discovered that minocycline, an existing ...

This guy had it worse. He prayed, too.

In the end, God came through. He is faithful. He is good. His mercy endures forever.

If we can ask: "Why do bad things happen in this world?", why not: "Why does anything good EVER happen in this world?"

They never bother to ask that, though.

Pontificate and blow all the smoke you want.
The fact remains, 50 million men, women and children died during WWII, essentially because one man came to power.
I guess no one thought of praying to stop him.

Maybe you should write God a letter explaining how much better things would be if you were in charge instead of Him. Eh, Absalom?

Maybe you should write God a letter explaining how much better things would be if you were in charge instead of Him. With a record like that, even you could do better.

That’s why “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” was so effective.

Why? Won’t change reality.

Ah, but how you look upon reality is the key. Do you see it for the moment, or as a lifetime, or as eternal? How long is the time line and what is the goal of time. I think most of us know that death is wrong, it just shouldn’t be, and illness is wrong in the same way. Kind of the opposite of the inalienable rights found in the Declaration. Things that should be and things that shouldn’t be.

By the way, I’m glad you came home.

Thank you. I was proud to wear the USMC uniform, and it was an honor to serve America.
