On January 18, 2012, before the Halbig lawsuit was filed, Jonathan Gruber, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist who helped write the Affordable Care Act, said, "What’s important to remember politically about this is if you're a state and you don’t set up an exchange, that means your citizens don't get their tax credits."

And then the guy goes out and lies, denying exactly what he said in his presentation.

From the article that exposed this

“In early 2013, Gruber told the liberal magazine Mother Jones that the theory advanced by the challengers (ie that Federal Exchanges could not qualify for subsides) in this case was “nutty.” Gruber also signed an amicus brief in defense of the administration and the IRS rule. But judging by the video it is quite clear that in 2012 he accepted the essence of the interpretation advanced by the challengers.

Update: Earlier this week, Gruber was on MNSBC to address the Halbig ruling. He was asked if the language limiting subsidies to state-run exchanges was a typo. His response: “It is unambiguous this is a typo. Literally every single person involved in the crafting of this law has said that it`s a typo, that they had no intention of excluding the federal states.”

These people lie with impunity

Well, since the Congress didn’t read the damn thing, they couldn’t have had any specific intent outside the language of the document.

I think there is a legal doctrine which is a precedent that says a legal document or contract is determined by the specific language within the “four corners” of the document.

The subsidies were put in place to force the few rogue states into complying. I don’t think the authors anticipated 37 States going rogue!

Pretty amazing, huh?

ObamaCare was built on lies and now it is being kept alive with lies. Now it’s supporters are showing their true colors.

No claims of noble goals or lofty aims anymore as everyone knows ObamaCare is an unworkable disaster. It’s become just plain lie, cheat and steal to ram their utopian ideological goals down the throats of the American people.
