“I assure you the percentage incidents of this type of thing are the same every year. I am in my forties and can remember this sort of thing happening when I was a child.”

I am not convinced it has been a constant rate of such incidents.

Can you show that it is.

Well, yes I can!

The actual amount is around 35 according to kidsincars.com. They are a group who is involved in lobbying the government for ‘funding’ and ‘research’ so I find them to be a bit suspect. According to Law enforcement there are around 10 - 20 of these incidents yearly.

For the past ten years it has been pretty constant according to both sets of numbers.

Regardless, they are very rare when you see a population of 310 million.

People die in horrible unintentional accidents all the time. We can not legislate against every variable in society. We already have too many laws and too many bureaucrats all up in our business. The ‘Though ought to be a law” and the ‘Something has to be done crowd’ have created more problems than they could ever begin to solve.
