The federal government says 173 unaccompanied immigrant children have been placed in Minnesota since the start of the year.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement issued a state-by-state breakdown of unaccompanied child placement on Thursday. The figures show more than 30,000 children have been released to sponsors this year through July 7.
"These children are leaving their countries as a matter of survival," said Jane Graupman, with the International Institute of Minnesota. "Their sibling has been murdered, their parents have been murdered, and so these children are desperate.

Wait until school starts and these kids bring a host of communicable diseases, require extensive tutoring and start organizing gangs.
They’ll just jack our taxes to cover it all.
I remember that. President Bush pulled a stunt similar to the current immigration crises during his second term, only on a smaller scale. He imported many thousands of Somali “political refugees” into Minnesota, one of the whitest states in America. And then he spent a huge amount of taxpayer money on educating their kids and teaching them how to assimilate (how to use soap and toilet paper, what washing machines are for, why Americans don’t eat dogs & cats, etc). The unions got involved and taught the men how to drive and got them jobs as taxi drivers (for hefty union dues, of course). I’ve never been to Minnesota in my life, so I have no idea how that experiment in social engineering turned out. I do know that most of the imported Somalis were Muslims. The only things I know about Minnesota is what I read in John Sandford novels.
Don’t forget the ELCA Lutherans...

What’s a Lutheran, anyway? My mom’s a Catholic because my stepfather is, my grandma’s a baptist, and those pushy Jehova’s Witnesses are always getting in my face whenever they can catch me at home. I don’t believe in religion. I worship the Supreme intelligence in my own special way, by getting on my knees in the garden, putting my bare hands in the soil, and planting things. My property is a jungle of controlled chaos. I refuse to waste my precious time off going to church, no matter how many times my kinfolks try to coerce me.
Sit there listening to some dude babbling out his agenda while smelling the sneaky farts of old people and babies. Screw that.
