President Obama’s competence problem is worse than it looks (Cillizza at WaPo turns on O)
WaPo ^ | Chris Cillizza

You can understand President Obama's current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall's midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence".

Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government. He pitched himself as the antidote to "Heck of a job, Brownie" and the Bush years, the person who would always put the most qualified candidate in every job in his Administration. That the basic functioning of government would never be in question.

Almost six years on from that election, however, Obama is faltering badly on the competence question and, in so doing, badly imperiling not only his ability to enact any sort of second term agenda but also Democrats' chances this fall. A series of events -- from the VA scandal to the ongoing border crisis to the situation in Ukraine to the NSA spying program -- have badly undermined the idea that Obama can effectively manage the government.

Hard to understand how a community organizer turned president could fail.

Although many don’t think he has failed. Many think he is right on target achieving what he set out to do - undermine America.

To further demonstrate the bias of the enemedia, the editor chose the word “competence” to headline a story about the jug-eared moron’s incompetence.

“So I go back to the Chauncey-character of the movie Being There...an empty suit guy with slogans that seem to work only when you don’t ask in depth questions. The nation was talked into bringing Chauncey onto the scene, and this is the reward for those voters.”

Basically it was, “let’s find us a black guy who doesn’t have the rap sheet of Jackson, Sharpton or Farrakhan, can read from a TelePrompTer and speak at the same time, has a family and has no discernible past that can be dug up and proven and let’s make him President.”

What they found was an Islamofacist, white hating Marxist, Communty Organizer from Chicago was was trained by Alinsky.

And they thought this was a good idea.

Even more delicious is that Boobamba's incompetence is imperiling Democrats----chief among them---2016 wannabe Hillary Clinton. Running in the toxic fallout of a two term blundering black president is a Sisyphian challenge.

The Clintons are relying heavily on "white privilege" to get back into office. The Clintons' have benefitted from, and are climbing back into office, using privileges far beyond those of the "community of color" to whom they plan to appeal.

"White privilege" denotes the array of advantages the Clintons have cultivated over years in public office. The gold-plated, endless perks of "white privilege" include:

<><> their personal massive wealth in the $2 billion range....

<><> ownership of multiple homes in posh enclaves....

<><> the chain of high public offices they've held....

<><> privileged friends in high places....

<><> global connections....

<><> constant affirmations of their own worth....

<><> greater social status...

<><> the expansive freedoms wealth and connections provide...

<><> unlimited access to the press to speak freely.....

<><> their memoirs made millions....

<><> Dec 2000 book deal $8 million; 2014 book deal $14 mill....

<><> three tax-exempt Clinton family foundations worth hundreds of millions....

<><> Clinton foundation "endowment" skyrockets to $200 million overnight....

<><> Hillary's $200,000 speeches.......

<><> Bill's tax-paid cushy pensions/benefits....

<><> tax-paid Clinton Library (Hollywood honey Sultan of Brunei a donor).....

<><> Chelsea's paid-for $10 million uber-condo.

2016 Hillary was relying on the "income equality" bugaboo to hoist herself into office......as good a definition of "white privilege" as any.

The Clintons strategy is to label others as "different" while presenting themselves as "normal." The Clinton "normal" is couple billion dollars laying around without having a real job.

The Never-Enough Clintons had planned to run a populist campaign, critical of the Wall Street types”....that's after the world was informed that speaker Hillary was pocketing $200,000 a throw from Goldman Sachs.....and other corporate giants.

Even though they were "dead broke" (snix), the greedy, mega-wealthy Clintons have money pouring in from everywhere without lifting a finger...said to be worth couple BILLION dollars.

Never-enough Bill/Hillary look to cash in w/ another go-round in the White House. The Clintons owe bigtime......money is pouring into their three tax-exempt foundations......and these donors expect payback.

I wish people would quit the incompetence thing

I would include "incompetence" in his list of characteristics. I agree that he had an agenda he wanted to achieve, but it hasn't gone as planned.Obamacare leaves us with seriously deficient medical care, the Muslim Brotherhood can't govern, and arms to "friendly" rebels created ISIS, chaos in Libya, and a reversal of gains in Iraq and Afghanistan. We're running out of friends, globally. He isn't in control of his stunt with "children" overwhelming our southern border. Summary....he has miscalculted everything he's touched.

What overshadows and magnifies his incompetence problem is that he's vindictive and intellectually lazy.

The writer has a nine year long WaPo weblog so he is a left journalist insider. He is a frequent contributor to MSNBC and has done lead in hosting for Andrea Mitchell MSNBC.

He is 38 years old and in the prime of his career.

some of us did not fall for the B/S speeches or the living cult media.

Now we have ended up in a world which is a mess, illegals now coming here in an invasion, and all this idiot who has never had a real job in his life is doing is fund raising, golfing and vacationing while giving snide remarks like a little child at school who is running for class leader

I disagree with Sowell's comment. The RNC force-fed us McCain as a candidate. McCain would've blown the world up by now, eliminated all conservative influence and erased our southern border. At least with Obama in there, conservatives have some voice as the opposition.

Republicans will lose again if they ignore constitutional conservative values.

have badly undermined the idea that Obama can effectively manage the government

OK, skip my opinions about Chris Cillizza specifically and WaPo in general, and go right to the big issue: What is wrong with people, people in general (including us, BTW) who believe that "no prior executive experience" is not a disqualifier for the Presidency?

In the past, a track record of executive accomplishment was a big plus. Now, not only is it not necessary, it is somewhat of a negative.

When "Obama" came into office, the Europeans and the American intelligensia were absolutely PEEING THEIR PANTS with excitement about how well he would manage the Executive Branch.

Forget that he's a Kenyan. Forget that he's a commie. Forget that he's a muslim (or, more likely, an atheist).

THERE WAS NO REASON TO BELIEVE HE COULD MANAGE HIS WAY OUT OF A WET PAPER BAG.

Why did such a large number of otherwise clever people ever believe otherwise?

It amazes me how someone can write an article bemoaning the fact that Obama's incompetency is causing damage for Democrats seeking re-election and never once mention the damage it's causing the country (and possibly even the world) as a whole.

I agree, but the damage he has done is irreversible in many cases. Our sovereignty is gone.

Problem is there are people in both parties that go along with the plan, they just disagree on who would be better at running it. The people in the GOP are not adverse to religion and Jews as the Marxist left is.

Yes, Obama is a bumbler in so many ways, but those who run the behind the scenes operations are downright evil and committed. Their idea is total destruction and chaos, and when the bottom falls out, they promise to “fix it” by taking total control their way.

Incompetence gives the left a way out. You can see the strategy forming for the 2014 elections. All those little Marxists are now campaigning against him to save their skin. They all adored and protected him before. Now that the plan is exposed and more and more are horrified, they know they have to pretend otherwise.

He doesn’t say a word about the IRS auditing conservatives or Lois Lerner. I really hope the next republican president we have sends the IRS after every liberal media person in this country.

All one has to do is look at performance, what he did, (that he shouldn't have) and what he didn't do (that he should have).
The man is, in every possible way, the empty chair portrayed by Clint Eastwood a few years back.

So, even for us, the ones that knew he was a nothing in 2008, we lost the election but we said, hey, give the jerk a chance, who knows, maybe he will prove to be better than expected. After all, Americans still want the President to do a good job.
From day one is was already looking bleak but hey, he's new, inexperienced and feeling out the office.
Now, 6 years later, the devastation is visible for all to see. He has set back US and Western interests 35 years!

What is really sad though, is that he still has more than 2 years to finish the US and her allies off. Absolutely depressing.

Hire an arrogant, air-headed rookie with a racist chip on his shoulder and a head full of simplistic socialist ideas and the odds get worse.

And then, after he's proved himself a failure, rehire him for another 4 years to finish off America.
