AUSTIN, TX — The group of state lawmakers overseeing how much taxpayer money is being spent on the border is set to meet Tuesday at the state Capitol.
“I don’t like that the state of Texas is having to put any extra dollars toward this effort that is clearly the responsibility of the federal government,” said state representative and committee chair Dennis Bonnen, R-Angleton.
“Are these immigrant children going to be enrolled in schools in Texas?” asked Gene Acuna, director of communications for the Texas Education Agency. The agency has not received any answers from the federal government.

Property taxes will necessarily skyrocket as new schools will have to be built to accomodate. And ESL teachers will need to be hired, as they speaka no english.
They are entitled to a trip back to their home country and that is it.
At my grandson’s school in rural Washington state, half the students speak Spanish. Imaging going to a school where half the class time is in another language.
These local officials should plan for the worst. They should just assume that they will have to pick up the tab, and that they will have to scramble to find room for all these kids.
They should just expect that they will get no help from the Obama administration on any of this.

ESL is a travesty. All such stupid programs should be eliminated, and English only should be the rule.
Educrats like it because the feds give them more dough for every child they miseducate.
States should refuse to allow illegal alien children to be enrolled. I know the Supreme Court ruled to force American taxpayers to pay the educational costs of illegal alien children, but it’s time to revisit that ruling. Those who argued against forcing the taxpayers to educate illegals said the requirement would encourage more illegal immigration. The court disagreed. Well, the court was wrong. With the anger as it is, I believe most Americans would back their state government on this. Americans are tired of this abuse and betrayal.
