I think I remember that Tora Bora segment, wasn’t that the one where he was running around like a chicken with the head cut off? Maybe it was a different one.
Geraldo had been doing a normal broadcast, but they dubbed in a sound of a whooshing mortar and Geraldo “sought cover” in order to avoid the “deadly danger”.
It was a ratings orchestration —there’d been no danger there at that time at all, turned out Geraldo had just been play-acting.
They chose that site cuz of all the stuff that had been dramatically knocked down and it looked so good it was just begging for some type of “live incident”, sorta like those video pranks where they put a “don’t press this button” out in the public square.
