11 SENATE REPUBLICANS VOTE TO ADVANCE DEBATE ON DEMOCRAT BORDER BILL (Cornyn, Rubio...)
Breitbart ^ | 7/30/14 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 07/30/2014 2:02:21 PM PDT by jimbo123

A total 11 Senate Republicans—including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)—crossed the aisle to vote to advance Senate Democrats' border spending bill.

Two vulnerable Democrats up for reelection, Sens. Kay Hagan (D-NC) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA), joined 31 Republicans in voting no. 50 Democrats voted yes.

The 11 Republicans who voted with almost all the Democrats are: Rubio and Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Bob Corker (R-TN), John Cornyn (R-TX), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Dean Heller (R-NV), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Johnny Isakson (R-GA), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).

While I am honest and up front that I am no fan of Cruz, I think they underlying (and sickening) fact at play here is that they HATE Cruz so much that they will vote against him just for spite.

Forget 2014. It’s 2016 that is going to be “interesting”.

I think everyone has been duped by the current wave of Republicans who play themselves off as conservative, then later turn out to be full blown progressives.

Unfortunately she is about he best you can do up there. In Georgia we have our own turn coats Chamabliss and Issacson. Chambliss is leaving in a couple of months and Issacson I expect will retire after two years. Ayotte I agree is sickening but we can do better you really can’t.

They just made sure the bill would pass, and if they vote NO on the final passage their ACU rating will improve.

The real problem is, when she returns to run for reelection her enablers in the Senate will send her home with a truck load of Chamber of Commerce cash to destroy anyone who challenges her in the primary. Then, the battered wife wing of the party will take to shilling about how Republicans have to hold their nose and vote for her because it is more important to have a liberal Senate occupied by Republicans, than a liberal Senate occupied by Democrats. She will campaign like a solid conservative, and enough Republicans will hold their noses and send her back to the Senate so she can caucus with rino side of the party. This is why it is so important to forgo the Senate this cycle and jettison these rinos.

The point of bringing it up for debate is so that it can all be revealed. The two “vulnerable” Dems don’t want it discussed, and the GOP has other plans but I bet you will find that they do want the bill discussed and while they could get the usual liberal GOPers to vote for this without a problem, they were short votes because of the defection of those two Dems. I would suspect this is actually a strategy, as unusual as it is to put “strategy” and “GOP” into the same paragraph.

This means things will be brought out into the open. Write to your Senators. Rubio is not in favor of this bill, btw, but he was just willing to take the hit for forcing it out into public discussion.

The very same argument used for ACA. “hey, we are only voting to open debate. Oh, it passed? Whoops.”

Remember the names:

Rubio and Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Bob Corker (R-TN), John Cornyn (R-TX), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Dean Heller (R-NV), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Johnny Isakson (R-GA), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).

As if any are a surprise —

Once everyone is done whooping and hollering, maybe your point can be discussed. First we’ve got to get past the “kill all the Rinos stuff.”

Anyway, thanks for the info, for now.
