An outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa will not change a summit in Washington next week that about 50 African leaders are expected to attend, a White House spokesman said on Wednesday.

The White House continues to monitor the deadly outbreak of the highly contagious virus and President Barack Obama was briefed about developments by his homeland security adviser, Lisa Monaco, on Tuesday, White House spokesman Eric Schultz told reporters.

“The CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control) has said this is not a risk to the United States at this time,” Schultz told reporters traveling with the president back to Washington from Kansas City, Missouri.

“Not a risk at this time?” Well at what “time” do they feel it could be a risk, after the summit?

Do these people not realize that all it takes is one terrorist to secure a small vial of viral infested fluid (water or serosanguinous), and drop it into a consumable for diplomats and ambassadors AT THE SUMMIT? We are talking instant viral warfare here.

If Malia got ebola and died, would it be blamed on bush?

This is insane. Obama should go to Africa for the summit, rather than have a lot of African leaders and their entourages come here.

I’m guessing Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia get politely uninvited or don’t get all their needed diplomatic clearances, landing rights, over fly permits, etc.

This is the final piece of Alinsky’s playbook with overwhelming the system. With Obamacare unable to handle the load, every other agency filled with incompetents and a President who will handle an outbreak by quarantining Pebble Beach, this would be the perfect time to create a panic.

This is the first time ever that my husband and I have become "preppery", and are discussing how things would go under martial law where we live.

I work in healthcare and someone with vomiting/diarrhea is just a very common patient to see...it's not going to be until a bit later down the road that a zebra like ebola is considered. After many of us have already been exposted.
