Gave up signing letters to the editor long ago for the reason you brought up. Is Dangerous to have an opinion the left dislikes. Am actually surprised the left is shooting more than they are. I’d carry all the time if hadn’t lost all ammo and weapons in that boating accident.

I have a troop support ribbon, and another for a local who died in Iraq. Ironically a couple weeks ago I saw someone in a parking lot stopped looking at it. I think he was reading the name and date, but who knows. Gone by the time I got there. But you’re right, too many kooks.

The lib said “I should smash out the windows on that car.”The guy he was talking to said,”That’s my car.You go do what you have to do,and I’ll then do what I have to do.”The lib ran away like a little school girl.
Yes, but no one in the political sphere makes much of an issue about the troops anymore. Jill and Michelle a bit I suppose, but the media doesn't cover it. I'm not one to talk, mine came down in an ice storm last winter and I haven't found time to put the brackets back up.
They only have compassion and understanding if you agree with them.

Had an incident just an hour and a half ago at my local Meijer where I observed a young black kid with his white wife and young baby in the self serve check out ahead of me.
He was chowing down on a bag of whatever and never scanned it at the check out.
I went up to the gal who watches over the self check registers and told her the kid hadn't scanned the bag. After he paid and was starting to leave, she went up to him and questioned him about it, he told her he had bought it somewhere else and had brought it into the stor.
There wasn't much she could do about it so she let him go...........I was watching him as he left and when he got to the exit door, he turned around and flashed a gang sign then flipped me the bird and left.......
A harmless situation but a lesson learned nonetheless...........Ya just never know........
The bumper sticker retaliation thing is just one of many interesting little asymmetries between liberals and conservatives that don’t get talked about much but are very revealing. A couple more that jump to mind:
-filthy language is the norm on liberal political forms versus restrained use of profanity on conservative forums
-liberals trash the place when they rally versus conservatives who leave things cleaner than when they came.

I’ve grown more careful lately. Seeing too much shouldn’t be seeing and I live in a relatively quiet area but things are heating up. Can sense and see it. Talked with a gentleman that left Brooklyn today and moved to this area. Was quite a conversation. Said he couldn’t take Brooklyn anymore. Said he would lay in bed and hear gunshots every night. He has two middle school children and knew he had to get them out of Brooklyn. Said has been here two years and the difference is night and day. And have been thinking all day about our conversation but am of the belief that soon there may be no place to run to and away from. The gentleman did also say this ... Everyone here is armed, not just the criminals and that is why I came here.
Many employers (including some defense-related) support people who hate soldiers and veterans. I worked temp contracts in offices for a long time. Some of those people are from some very anti-American populations, and some of them even work in defense-related offices.
