I’m sure Texas is nice. I’ve never been, but would love to see the Alamo and do the river walk thing (I’ve wanted to ever since it was featured in “Cloak & Dagger” when I was a kid) before I kick the bucket. My point is that Texas is made out to be some wonderful bastion of conservative freedom - the republic of TX and all that - so, the fact that SJL was elected in the first place is one thing. Mistakes happen. But, if TX was, in fact, that center of republican freedom and wonder that everyone from Texas talks about, she’d be little more than a footnote in Texas’ history by now. The fact that she’s still in office? Tells me TX is little more than just another follow along state. I guess the bigger tell that TX is not some wonderful conservative refuge is that it hasn’t declared it’s independence. The fact that the ability to walk away from the union is written into the state Constitution means nothing, if it isn’t going to be used. If Texas stands, I’ll stand with her. Until then, all the bluster about TX is just that - hot air.

I get what you’re saying. Texas is a red state though. We still outnumber the liberals. If Texas ever turns blue, I’m outta here :)
