CIA Admits to Hacking Senate Computers
National Journal ^ | 7/31/2014 | Dustin Volz

The Central Intelligence Agency improperly and covertly hacked into computers used by Senate staffers to investigate the spy agency's Bush-era interrogation practices, according to an internal investigation.

CIA Director John Brennan has determined that employees "acted in a manner inconsistent with the common understanding" brokered between the CIA and its Senate overseers, according to agency spokesman Dean Boyd.

The stunning admission follows a scathing, 40-minute speech by Senate Intelligence Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein on the Senate floor back in March, in which she accused the CIA of secretly accessing her panel's computers....

At the time, Brennan denied Feinstein's accusations, telling NBC News reporter Andrea Mitchell, "As far as the allegations of the CIA hacking into Senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth. … That's beyond the scope of reason."

But after being briefed on the inspector general's findings, Brennan "apologized" on Tuesday to both Feinstein and the panel's top Republican, Sen. Saxby Chambliss, for the actions of his officers, spokesman Boyd said.

The government is too busy trying to protect airplanes and illegal “immigrants”

Illegal? What's that? That word doesn't mean anything anymore. And besides, you can't say it because it's "waycist"!

And no one will be disciplined or fired.

No one will go to prison.

The CIA (among other federal agencies) answers to no one.

And still we preach to other countries about freedom & democratic ideals.

As I understand it, the CIA’s mandate was to develop intelligence overseas. Since when did the Senate of the United States become an overseas territory?

Yes, I know it acts like it but...

Cut their budget. We have three rogue governments in CIA, homeland and IRS.

Justice is running all three any bets?

Thanks Pieter. I wasn’t aware that’s how the CIA got it’s start. Even if it wasn’t exactly the start, it sure makes it clear that level of activity was taking place in the U. S.

Very disgusting. Heads should have rolled...

To get a handle on who is calling the shots for those agencies, read the resumes of all IRS and CIA leadership since their inception. Start your CIA leadership research at the beginning of the OSS.

Look at what these leaders worked at prior to their government jobs; where they went to college; who are their mentors and parents.

If Holder isn't running, he's certainly protecting. These were undoubtedly illegal acts with criminal penalties, but I don't see any arrests of those involved, do you?

I think you forgot one ..., the NSA
They were supposed to monitor foreign sources but chose
to monitor and data-mine U.S. citizens with warrant,
or 'probable cause'
Just another violation of the U.S. Consitution in this administration .

OSS was was set up at the outset of WWII at the direction of British Intelligence to function as a subsidiary of British Intelligence.

After WWII, OSS was “shut down” but simply morphed into the CIA.

This is what dictatorship looks like. How many laws did this admin violate?

CIA isn’t even supposed to do domestic spying for one thing.

And nobody at the CIA resigned over this.

The executive branch is waging war on the other branches of government.

The executive branch is out of its statutory and constitutional harness.
