I have no idea. It happens to many times and they either get a desk job
for a couple weeks or it's just ignored. That is the main problem with
talking to the police, once you open your mouth they can lie with impunity
and misconstrue any words spoken into any meaning they wish to give them cause
for any actions they take. It is a very serious breach of public trust and
civil liberty.

Yes, Gadsden County is in the old Plantation belt.

It’s pretty clear the druggist called the cops - who were already waiting outside.

Meth cooks send people out to buy Sudafed in whatever quantities are available by law. Some times it takes several buys at different stores to get the amount necessary for their “cook”

Buying small amounts at different locations is less likely to attract attention.

I’m aware of that, but in a free country, it should not be illegal to buy extra antihistamines. Same thing for extra ammo or cars that go faster than the speed limit or a box of 12 condoms when you know you can’t do it that many times in one day.

I didn’t see how the Sheriff knew she had bought the Sudafed unless the helpful pharmacist made a call after upselling her to a trigger limit. I think someone is missing from the lawsuit.

And what's the motive? Is there some sub-rosa asset forfeiture deal between the Sheriff and the pharmacist?

This is more true than many understand.....Drove in and out of detroit for work almost every day for 2 yrs...Saw hundreds pulled over.....every 5th car was a gang-banger suv...or caddy w big rims......In 2yrs....I saw ONLY rich looking white people pulled over.....at least 2 per. day....and I am NOT spinning this .....I NEVER saw a big rimmed car pulled over in 2 yrs....NOT ONE.....It became a “THING” at work.....everyone started looking for banger cars pulled over....Saw them Sometimes abandoned .......NEVER pulled over.
I think its a sign of the disease......and its certainly produced fruit in detroit.

While I am completely in sympathy with Ms. Goodson, it seems strange that the pharmacist recommended TWO boxes of Sudafed.

Most folks wouldn't load up on an OTC drug without having tried it first. This stuff is not cheap. What happens if there is an adverse reaction? As hard as Sudafed is to buy, how hard is it to return for refund? Odd.

Another thing: If I submit false & misleading evidence to a judge, I am guilty of perjury & obstruction of justice. Why haven't these 2 cops been arrested?

“Buckhalt obtained a search warrant on false and misleading statements
and evidence,” the complaint states.

Looks like the Warrant was issued because they refused to allow a blanket
search, on the premise they were guilty of something or they would allow the
invasion of their home because they bought legal Drugs.

The next step would be the violation of Civil rights and suing the hell out of them. “

The judge is now denouncing the warrant, but how much effort did he really take to make the cop convince him of the need, and how much is he now back peddling after being a rubber stamp who didn’t bother with doing his job?

“I caught that, too. It seems there might have been some collusion and chicanery on the part of the druggist.”

The druggist needs to be made a defendant in their suit. He is as culpable as the police/judges are.

“I’m perfectly happy with the war on drugs. I don’t need freaks brewing meth next to me - or even using it.

There are some things society simply doesn’t need, and these chemical perversions are one of them. Refined drugs of this type - heroin, etc. - started only in the late 19th century, when European techniques were able to extract the active elements, and they were fine and a blessing to mankind when used for pain relief. But nobody can say they have not been a curse since they took over our society, especially at its lowest levels.”

Are you blind? Does the concept that “sometimes the cure is worse than the disease” mean nothing to you? Do you not see the endless list of victims by the enforces? Innocent families attacked in the dead of night because cops get careless and attack on limited information that was wrong.
How about this quote? “He who would trade essential liberty for temporary security will have neither.”

Now, I agree with drug laws. But that doesn’t mean that any and every tactic is acceptable in fighting drugs. It has gotten out of control with stuff like this.

And the worst part? For society trading any concept of personal dignity, and the moron enforces haven’t even made a real dent in the problem. But they have made a real dent in turning this country into a prison camp, if I can’t even bother buying over the counter medicine without the government tracking it.

I have heard that your credit/debit card company will “flag” purchases, too.

Pay cash for everything.

I've been friends with many Judges Local and Federal and they don't think that way.
The officer might get a finger wagging in private but it's swept under the rug.
The Judge isn't accountable here anyway, only the officer and what he said to
gain the warrant. Most Judges will cover for officers even when they lie.

Only a civil suit will bring out the truth and we could predict with certainty
that no information will be released to the public. The reason would be in
the interest of (cough) public trust.

They talked to the police, if they had not, all this mess might not have happened.
All they had to do was hand the officer the receipt. BUT!

There is also something that bothers me about this case, that is if the
lady was pharmacy shopping for pseudoephedrine products. If anybody buys to
many they could be arrested and investigated. The limit is
TITLE VII--COMBAT METHAMPHETAMINE EPIDEMIC ACT OF 2005
""monthly sales to no more than 9.0 grams per purchaser""

The Sudo she was buying contains 3.6 GRAMS per box, so if she bought more than
two boxes in 30-days then the local police would be notified, but ultimately
the DEA would bring the drug charges. The police were there fast which also brings up
the question of how many they purchased and if they were actually being investigated.

Also, if they were investigating the people a technicality might have been made
which caused the release. And if they really are meth rats then a new case
could begin with the next purchase without effecting any previous evidence.
Lying would be a Major technicality, a big mistake on the officers part.
