“BS?”

That is convincing, fact-based logical well-founded argument.

Cruz has no role in the House, he is a Senator.

He is my Senator and he is doing a real man’s job, but the reporter in this article blurs the lines and I doubt the reporter even knows the difference between Senators and Representatives.

Cruz does not have any official role in the House, contrary to what the ignorant say.

You're right of course but I don't think anyone is saying he does. I don't think even the original article said that.

All that's being said about Cruz is that he "worked behind the scenes" to stir up opposition to Boener's bill.

Which he did. That's exactly what happened yesterday.

I think they are meeting again today in a last ditch effort to get something passed before the summer break, so they can go home and say they "did something". Otherwise they are worried the Dems are going to say "look the Republicans did nothing about the border crisis when they were there" even though, of course, this is all their (Obama's) fault.

The thing is though, they are right. That's exactly how this is going to play out (with the help of the complicent media): the Republicans are going to be made to look uncaring again, in the mind of the low-information voter (IOW the ones who watch the Nightly News before settling down to Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune).

This is a disaster of a situation playing right into the Democrat's hands. One side you have the GOPe, pushing their amnesty-but-not-amnesty agenda via attempting legislation that would do nothing to hold Obama's feet to the fire just give him money that ultimately would further his goal. The other side we have Ted Cruz and others fighting against legistlation that has no chance of passing anyway, because it doesn't authorize nearly as much money as Obama wants, so he would never sign it anyway. BUT, I guess, as a matter of "principle" they're opposing it, apparently JUST BECAUSE it comes from (and yes pushes the agenda of) the GOPe.

Again though, even Boener's bill doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming law even though it's a GOPe bill!

The fact of the matter is conservatism in general comes out of all of this looking like a Keystone Cop operation to the American public at large. I'm not impressed with either "side" right now. One group should have the foresight past their nose to realize no matter WHAT is passed in the House at this point is DOA on the President's desk. So it just behooves them to pass SOMETHING, or else they end up looking like a bunch of baffoons. Not to mention this is taking all the scandals and Obamacare off the minds of the typical voter.

I just hope the attention span of the average low info voter is as short as it's historically been, or else this could indeed be the moment where, once again, the Republican Party snatches defeat from victory.

So you are saying that Cruz is not the defacto leader of legislative conservatives in this country? If not who is? Cruz needs to be arm twisting house members to keep them on the straight and narrow. Otherwise RINO leaders like Boehner and Ryan will run over them like a steam roller.
