A couple of important details missing from the story. How long was she missing before they found her body? Was the dog waiting for days before someone retrieved it? The story says the dog led people to her body and that the dog waited by her. If it was the same day and in a park how did the dog not attack the murderer and how would it have happened in broad daylight at a park? Doesn’t say how she was killed either.
I been reading true crime novels this summer. Sometimes the police leave out certain details to the public so they can build a stronger case in court.
And the police are disputing the accuracy of the AP report. Evidently there was a text message, but not the one that's being reported.
Much more information here.
Did the police shoot the dog?
All they’ll say is she wasn’t shot or stabbed. The joggers who found her had passed by the area shortly before and the dog barked at them. It was a two hour time span.
