Loss of Congress and wrongheaded GOP policies of banking and regulation led to the financial meltdown

Specifically, continuing the sub-prime apocalypse requirements put in place by the Klintoon administration made the sub-prime meltdown inevitable. Some think Glass-Steagall had something to do with it, but the fact is that throwing away some goofy regulations with one hand is not bad in a free market, as long as you aren't mandating that banks make billions in worthless loans with the other hand.

Yes, the cause started with democrats but was continued or ignored by GOP establishment types. The subprime debacle would never have happened if there wasn’t an agreement put in place for the massive profits to be made by all parties.

All this was made in a collusion of corrupt democrats and republicans. So it makes no sense to point at a party to blame. The reason I point to republicans is because that is the party that conservatives have a chance of gaining control over.
