I don’t know what bug is under your collar, but you are being silly and lying when you misquote “Army Reserves” as meaning the active Army.

Reagan was a full fledged Cavalry officer in the United States Army Reserves for five years. He started preparing in 1935 and enlisted in 1937.

In 1942 he transferred to active duty and served during WWII, leaving the Army in 1945, and finishing his commission in 1953.

I don’t know how long your service was, but 8 years of serving and another 8 years of inactive, plus two years of officer study seems pretty good, surely not something that you should be attempting to belittle.

Reagan was our last Cavalry President, and a true cavalryman, and was buried as such.

You seemed to have missed the point. Someone in the Cavalry Reserves was not active, and it is a bit misleading to pretend that Reagan had years of service as a cavalry officer. He rode horses with the reserves for a while. When he went full time, in 42, he almost immediately transferred to public affairs, where he spent 3 years. He was a darn good rider, much better than I’ll ever be, but he wasn’t a “true cavalryman”.
