Republicans Vote To End DACA
roll call ^

Posted on 08/01/2014 8:06:37 PM PDT by cornelis

Updated 10:29 p.m. | House Republicans voted to prohibit President Barack Obama from granting what they consider to be an unconstitutional amnesty to illegal immigrants Friday.

The bill would effectively end Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA — a program that has allowed hundreds of thousands of “Dreamers” brought to the United States illegally by their parents to get work permits and avoid deportation. And it would prohibit the president from expanding the program, as he has been reportedly considering doing for as many as five million additional immigrants.

The 216-192 vote was largely along party lines, with four Democrats voting “yes” — Collin C. Peterson of Minnesota, Mike McIntyre of North Carolina, John Barrow of Georgia, and Nick J. Rahall II of West Virginia.

Will Dingy change/amend it (w/S744) when it gets to the Senate?

Eleven Republicans broke ranks to oppose it — Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida, Jeff Denham of California, Cory Gardner of Colorado, Mike Coffman of Colorado, David Valadao of California, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, David Reichert of Washington, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Joe Heck of Nevada, Mark Amodei of Nevada, and Fred Upton of Michigan.

The term "RINOs" does not even cover it.

Might the term "Collaborators" be closer?

If the Senate refuses to go along with the House ... cut the purse strings.

It will never pass the Senate but at least the conservatives have made them do the right thing. Finally.

How many times, over the past 5 years, have we all said that? How many times has Bonehead the Traitor cut the purse strings?

. . . Bachmann, R-Minn., even suggested they were putting a “handcuff” on Obama — a statement that brought a rebuke from the chair . . .

Harry Reid will likely allow this to go nowhere in the Senate. But at least it put a number of DemocRATS on the record as opposing it and that can be used as a club on some of them in this year’s elections.

Well let’s let the dust settle and see what this looks like tomorrow morning.

Either way the ball is now in the Senate’s and Bambi’s court.

And they’re not going to like it.

I noticed marble mouthed Fred Up(chuck)ton- Rino MI voted against it.

I am shocked !

I think he was secretly in love with Cantor.

OK, but why did Boehner and his stupid caucus wait two years??

DACA was unconstitutional the moment ink hit paper. We are losing our republic and America needs conservative leadership.
