How in the world does an IDF soldier get captured ? Stun grenade? Taser? I just can’ t imagine any throwing their hands up to Hamas . Better to go down fighting . And as for the IDF ; I hope the have a ‘take no prisoners’ ROE in place.

That young officer probably was killed trying to escape and Hamas is probably unable to secure his body in a secure location due to combat conditions. They probably have hid it in a secure “tunnel” to retrieve when they can for maximum bartering.

Bibi traded 1,000 terrorists for a soldier not long ago, that is some huge incentive to Hamas.

...it might go down like this:

Suicide Hamas bomber emerges from tunnel along with 5 others.
The lead terrorist blows himself up next to a group of IDF soldiers.
2 soldiers die on the spot.
7-8 are injured, including the young officer.
In the ensuing shock of the blast and due to their injuries, the remaining 7-8 terrorists drag the officer to the tunnel entrance and stuff him in.
By the time reinforcements arrive, the terror team are in the tunnel labyrinth.
A few minutes later, the IDF launched what they call a “Hannibal Operation” which is where they pour heavy fire into the sector where the terrorist might be. They cordon off an area where they think they can prevent the terrorists (with the officer) from escaping to another tunnel or leaving the area. This is what they did.
That's my guess anyways...

Note HAMAS initially said they have the officer.

Later in the day they said they have no idea.

By the evening they stated they don’t have clue and that he might have died.

By nightfall they state they have no information.

The absurd part is that a Muslim scum HAMAS official (Hamdun?) said that their position is valid and that they are, “honest”...

Blast them to Kingdom Come already...screw the UN who work hand and hand with the terrorists.

The IDF ended his detention?
And saved the country numerous problems down the road.
Do not ever be taken!
