Perhaps a chance to study and find a cure. I have to believe his blood will be useful to researchers, especially if he survives.

Researchers have been studying ebola (all strains) for nearly 40 years.

There are literally hundreds of publications in PubMed on ebola.

There are already several promising antivirals, one of which is in clinical studies right now as an anti-influenza drug, that have shown effectiveness against ebola.

This is about using a level 4 containment facility that’s there and needs to be used or funding will dry up. And all the subsequent publications the practicing docs will get for years to come. Nothing more.
