What about Nixon?..
We don’t even have impeachment as an option, if actual removal from office is the goal. No way in the world will 67 Senators vote to convict.
Then we have nothing.
It is not about conviction, it is about the truth. This is the only way to get it out and once he is in the low 30s don’t count out 67.
“Then we have nothing.”
You are correct. We will have Biden.
What about revolution?...
Why was the 2nd amandment given?..
Actually it was given for when impeachment is not possible..
you know................ LIKE NOW....
Not unless the states hold an article 5 and repe the 17th amendment and put the states back in control.
Impeachment is all we have left.
No there is that 2nd Amendment thing. That’s all we have left.
Are we willing to lose another 1/2 million men? He won’t have the same Rules of Engagement against Americans he gives to Mooselips.
enough brayin
The article is illogical as is the argument. Impeachment is not about justice, it is a political remedy. In politics, truth is very much a bystander. The actors are all politicians and they will behave in a political fashion, not as a legal proceeding.
As for impeachment itself, if Articles of Impeachment are delivered by the House, the Senate must sit in a trial and it form and function changes, but it’s makeup does not. As in the Clinton impeachment, a Senate trial can end without examination of evidence, and without a vote on the Articles, so what is left is political theater where the other side has every opportunity to write their own script. The outcome is predetermined by the political will of the parties involved and the Republicans are incapable of delivering a single Democrat vote and cannot deliver all of their own votes to boot.
Impeachment is a pathway to failure that can only serve to bolster Obama. Obama understands this, the media understands this. Many conservatives choose to believe in a fantasy that can never be.
It was tough enough with Clinton, but we had such outstanding rhetoric from a “Scottish Law” expert. I don’t see that a better scenario exists with the Democrats in charge. As a moral victory, the charges would be in the Congressional Record for a while, until the hard drive crashes.
The Democrats, of course, could care less about moral victories, they only want real ones. And, they will get a big one if this idea goes forward.
I can just hear Kenyan in front of a crowd now. Impeachment? Is that all they got? They’re gonna impeach me for just doin’ my job? (LIV laughing in the background)
He's the President.
Yes, Obama deserves to be thrown out of office. But...the sad reality is, there is no way the Republicans can muster enough votes in the Senate to accomplish it. No way. Now how.
Impeachment is the briar patch Obama wants to be thrown into. He is practically begging for it.
All the talk of it does is incite Obama’s base to come out to vote when many would be otherwise demoralized and staying home on election day.
In a perfect world, impeachment would be the way to go. But, we do not live in such a world. We live in this one. So, let’s not let the demand for the ‘perfect’ solution be the enemy of the doable one; and what is doable is punishing Obama through a great victory in November.
Explain why his numbers dropped 6 points this week when all the news was his impeachment? Follow my path and it will drop another 6. Politics isn't about logic, it is about leading and works much like golf. You hit right for the ball to go left and vice versa.
“Politics is the art of delaying any decisions until the issue is no longer relevant.”
