My father taught me that Israel was an ally of the USA, and had never asked for help, other than materiel. That the USA had always, and would always, support Israel. Of course, we were a Protestant (conservative, not liberal Protestant) family, so we were fairly typical in our beliefs.
He's spinning in his grave today: Moslem demonstrators OUTSIDE OUR WHITE HOUSE? And they CHASE OFF PRO-ISRAEL demonstrators?!
This can't be happening. Not here. Not in America. No....
It happens here simply because we allow it to happen.
