President Obama thumped Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, but now their political standings seem reversed. During a summer in which Democratic candidates are keeping their distance from an unpopular president, Romney is emerging as one of the Republican Partys most in-demand campaign surrogates.
Over three days in mid-August, Romney will campaign for GOP Senate and gubernatorial candidates in West Virginia, North Carolina and Arkansas, aides said. In September, he is planning visits to the presidential swing states of Colorado and Virginia.
Romney is filling up his October schedule, as well.
Democrats dont want to be associated with Barack Obama right now, but Republicans are dying to be associated with Mitt Romney, said Spencer Zwick, a longtime Romney confidant who chaired his national finance council.

The purists would rather have Obama than vote for the Mormon. Actually I think they’d rather have Hitler or Stalin than vote for the Mormon.
That's what we were saying four years ago. No way would the country re-elect the most incompetent man ever elected to such a high office.
Time for GOP to get serious about social media and start reaching out to the younger generation. The Millennial generation are reaching voting age and entering an economy that has all but been destroyed by rampant liberalism and big government. Conservatives need to shed the image that they are out of touch fuddy-duds who are not prepared to lead and govern in the 21st Century.
Stop insulting the intelligence of ROmney.
The problem is Mr. Romney is a conservative backstabber,
a destroyer of companies for self enrichment,
CREATED the first RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE,
is a Mexican, making Obama’s unvetting moot,
CREATED gay marriage HIMSELF, by HIMSELF
in his war against the Clerks,
destroyed the Mass Constitution and GOP,
and is a limp idiot.
His wife should run for President.
I like her.
We all voted for the idiot. Nobody’s a purist here. The issue is whether we stuck with the two time loser as he guns for three.
Mitt Romney and others are pushing for another Mitt Romney candidacy. You should be clear: if Romney is nominated again, he will lose again. In fact, he will probably get fewer votes than last time.
Consider that when you read these articles.
"We moved our base camp last night and were now positioned literally
within feet of the river. Have been sitting here watching the border
patrol patrolling in their riverboats all night and all morning..."~Jim Robinson
Please, no.
Romney has bunches of bucks, though, and he’s obviously not going to give up until he’s nominated again. The GOP historically likes candidates who will spend their own money to campaign, so he’s got a good chance. An ambitious idiot who will lose it once again.
David Axelrod claimed Romneycare was the template for Obamacare.
Axelrod worked for obama.
Romney care is regardless, an unwarranted, unconstitutional, socialist, and tryrannical law, as is obamacare.
And both obama and Romney are dangerous cultists albeit obama is the more immediately dangerous.
RomneyCARE (DEATHCARE by the state)
was IMPOSED by the gay marriage-imposer,
the rat Willard Romney --- before Obamacare.
I was not saying that 4 years ago.
Not true. Givie it a rest already. More people voted for Romney than McCain.
Romney isn’t EVER going to be elected President.
A party shouldn’t run a person that the party won’t vote for.
I am just sick of hearing people call us purists like the left does. We are conservatives, not purists. Most of us here were for anyone but Obama and Romney got more votes than McCain.
As a conservative I cannot support a man who promoted same-sex “marriage” and forced healthcare.that would be Romney and obama.I want neither in office. Clear enough.
We did not ALL vote for Romney.
Amen. Now I must, must I say, return to blogging about Obama's Golf I do this Papa, because no one, that is no one, will take my suggestion of never mentioning that gay disbarred lawyer whatsisname from Chicago/Kenya/Hawaii ever again.
Instead, let's concentrate on forcing what is supposed to be the opposition develop a PROGRAM, A PLAN, AND A COUPLE OF LEADERS TO sell it to the electorate, a good half of which do not bestir themselves to vote.
Gossip gets us nowhere.
I also saw with crystal clarity that Romney lost because he wasn't Namby or Pamby enough and may have offended key constituencies. I therefore, inspired by Vaquero et al, have developed this dyn-o-mite can't-lose Republican platform for the 2016 election. It's perfect for The Mormon Milquetoast.
Herewith FRiends, the 2016 GOPe PARTY Can't-Lose Platform:
"Buenos Días! We can give you everything ... and much much more ... more efficiently than those nasty Democrats. And we're much nicer people, with 'family' values, but we love LGBT people too! We are 100% behind gay marriage (Love those folks!) And we'll FIX Obamacare with good ole Republican Efficiency and fiscal controls so that everyone can have free healthcare with their own doctor. We are for strong open borders and believe in a hardworking-family-values Latino instant citizen on every lawn. We'll never ever say a harsh word against anyone because that scares the female voter, you know. And we'll work closely with our colleagues across the aisle.
The country eats red-hot pepperoni PIZZA tacos with fries, and the Republicans are still serving Wonder Bread PB&J sandwiches with the crust cut off.
Don't laugh at me. Karl (The Architect) Rove would have charged the RNC millions for that advice, which I freely donate. (I mercifully left out the flag-waving Fouth-of-July Picnic commercials featuring diverse faces, including the smiling mulatto couple. They were busy on a Democrat shoot)
What might actually beat the Democrats? How's about a PROGRAM, A Plan, and some Leaders who can sell it. Half the electorate does not vote. Let's go get'em!
Or we can pay Karl, and let Mitt put them back to their ignorant slumber with a billion-dollar "campaign.".
