Won't Israel be risking humanitarian ire by striking at poor innocent AP/Rooters/Hamas/UNRWA/CNN/Geraldo sycophant workers and reporters when they just happen to be innocently filming a report within inches of a launched Hamas rocket or a terrorist tunnel entrance?

There.
Fixed it for you.

I wonder how much deeper the Palestinians will try digging now?

There's no telling.

But I reject the assertion seen in many opinion pieces and reports (including statements from Israel) that there is no proven technology to detect tunnel digging at any reasonable depth.

The geophysical capability has existed for decades, as in the extensive network of seismic sensors in place all along the California San Andreas, and other, faults.
Another example is seismic sensors used extensively in Viet Nam to detect mass surface movements of marching bodies and vehicles. I suspect the technology has advanced bustantially in the last 35 years...

Israel is among the most technically and computer advanced nations on the entire planet.

South Korea has microphones buried to detect tunnel-building activity and they regularly use ground penetrating radar on suspect locations.
