The ministers of black churches will get refunds from the IRS much like the earned income tax credit is for people with no income.

Preaching the leftist vote garnering gospel will be the greatest spur to the black church collection ever

What, not checking mosques for political bias? Or signs of outright treason?

I concur. This will be a constant problem as the further encroachment of the police state progresses. If you preach in favor of the powers that be, you’ll be left alone. Funny how Satan works through his minions.

Any organization that takes advantage of tax exemptions (the same as getting a handout from big brother) will be subject to government’s oversight. The same applies to the people I lend any aid, they will be held accountable to MY expectations to be improving their condition. It’s only natural.

“I don’t believe politics can be separated from Christian doctrine, but what do I know?”

You are exactly right IMHO. Wake ye sheep!, was not a suggestion.

IA’s?

How about freedom of speech for all, and equal taxation of all?

Put yourself in the driver’s (ruling authority) seat: If red communist atheist organizations have tax exempt status and are effectively preaching your overthrow and recruiting from their pulpit, would you be tempted to put a damper on it by removing their tax exempt status?

Perhaps you are more virtuous than the current ruling authority in that you would honor the Constitution’s authority, but the current party in power has outlawed the Constitution as we know it, and they do not care if we cry “foul!”.

My preacher is angry about this news. Former cop, not wise to make him angry. I like my preacher.

It’s a given that only conservative Christian, probably narrowed further to “evangelical” churches will receive scrutiny.

This tyranny will happen and continue to be ratcheted up until it is forcibly stopped.

All they’d have to do is keep a log of the paid staff’s hours,

and they are only liable for that portion of time spent on anything “political”.

So, let’s say 5 minutes of a sermon was considered taxable, and the paid staff logged 160 hours of time that week...

The irony is that it’s the liberals who preach politics from the pulpit. Conservatives keep politics out of religious services. At least that’s what I’ve found.

The Democratic Parties second most corrupt POTUS years before when he was still a US Senator got the clause 501(c)(3) put into law to silence preachers against political activity against him back in 1954. This was done by Lyndon Johnson. Look up 501(c)(3) Johnson amendment. It’s a bad law in general that goes against the basic foundation of our nation.

Tax exempt status is not granted by 501c3 status; limited liability is. Churches are automatically tax exempt, but church leaders are personally liable for church activities (including tax liabilities). There are no restrictions on church speech unless the church puts themselves under the statutory obligations of incorporating.

This decision is much more onerous than most people understand and it should not be undertaken lightly. Why do churches accept the devil’s yoke? The leadership trades the protection of God for the protection of man—sons of their father Jacob.
