COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Public Health confirms a person is undergoing testing and has been quarantined for the deadly Ebola virus. A spokesperson says they’re working with the CDC to learn the preliminary results of those tests.

CPH says the person recently traveled to West Africa, where an outbreak has left nearly 900 people dead.

The virus can be transmitted through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals.

According to the CDC, symptoms include sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding.

No licensed vaccine for Ebola is available. Several vaccines are being tested, but none are available for clinical use.

The docs who "created" the serum are connected to a woman who had a private audience with Pope Obama...and said his girls could work in her lab.

So now you know why these guinea pigs were brought to the USA. They'll dissect the hell out of those two if they don't make it.

Google Larry Zeitlin. It's a Med article. She is connected....and they're all getting bucks.

It may be that if they do make it, they're looking for a vaccine.

BA has suspended service as of now. Imagine the cost of decontaminating a place if ONE of the passengers that was on it later tests positive.

Or heaven forbid urps or worse while a passenger.

The breaking news out of Nigeria this morning was unsettling. From the one airline passenger, eight contacts have come down with Ebola.

Justification for withholding the information will be based on the idea that to inform the public will cause mass panic.

Ebola has obviously changed into something that isn't stopped by previously successful containment procedures. So how can the ptb know with such certainty that the virus hasn't fooled the tests?

I don't trust anything they tell us about this. Never forget that AIDS came out of Africa and initially we were given assurances that it couldn't spread in the US.

I'm tempted to stay out of stuffy and/or crowded places in OH. There's the algae-contaminated water threat from Lake Erie, this questionable disease, and people coming back for school from scary places all over the globe. If the ptb aren't worried about disease they should be.

Just one infected person coming in across our southern border and being then held in a detention center for a week or so would create a nation wide crisis the scals of which this country has never seen.

You’re being racist and very un-PC. We must have diversity in all things. Obola is seeing to that.

Your link - He says news accounts that Brantley’s rash disappeared in just an hour after receiving a dose of the drug don’t make sense to him.

Me neither. One minute he's at death's door but a mere 60 minutes later he's practically jumping on his bed singing, "2 monkey jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head, Mama called the doctor and the doctor said, no more monkeys jumping on the bed." There's already been so many fanciful and outright lies (i.e. talking head Dr. Nancy Snyderman saying it's not airborne so flying is safe) in this event that it's impossible to believe anything "they" say.

Something else I'm questioning is if he didn't ship his family back to the states knowing full well he was infected. The family was scheduled to come back to the US this week for a wedding but the wife and kids arrived the week of July 20th "before" he showed symptoms. He was hospitalized the morning of July 22.

What concerns me is the disposal of human waste from these “isolated” patients. How do they destroy or disinfect their bodily fluids/excrement?

Putting a mask on doesn’t seem like a total solution for tears, nasal fluid, phlegm, urine, sweat, vomit, bowel movements, menstruation etc.,

Devil’s Advocate time.

When I was young the news headlines were flooded by breathless coverage of Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Which led a girl I was dating at the time to prevail upon me to rush her to the ER as she was certain she had it and was about to die.

Turned out she caught the flu at the wrong time of the month.

Probably more than a bit of that going on now with Ebola. Particularly if you’ve been to Africa lately.

Not entirely rural.

Here is an article on how they dealt with an Ebola outbreak in one African city in 1995.
http://www.newsweek.com/20-year-old-ebola-treatment-could-save-kent-brantly-262552?piano_t=1

Excerpt: “By the time Robert Colebunders arrived in Kikwit, Democratic Republic of Congo (known as Zaire at the time), on June 15 of 1995, the Ebola virus had ravaged the city of 250,000 and the neighboring area for nearly 6 months. The hospitals in the riverport town were empty; patients and healthcare workers had fled to other parts of the country for fear of contracting the deadly disease, which would ultimately affect 317 people and kill 245.

Eventually, the Kikwit Ebola outbreak was traced back to January 1995, but it wasn’t until the start of May of that year that local public health officials recognized the many sick patients in the area as victims of the infectious disease. On May 8th, the Zairian government officially declared the epidemic, asking the World Health Organization to mobilize international assistance. Soon after, infectious disease experts arrived from the WHO, the CDC, Doctors Without Borders, the South African Medical Institute, the Red Cross, and Belgium’s Institute of Tropical Medicine—which sent Colebunders.

I don’t doubt that at all.

And I’d rather they freak out and get tested than ignore it and spread it around.

The doctor is not a “guinea pig”, he is an
American doctor and Christian missionary, naturally he came home for treatment.

I know faculty and graduates from the Emory Med schools and I also know many employees of the CDC.

The one thing they all have is weapons’ grade confidence - in themselves.

Their self-assured statements about containment make total sense to me when you view it in regards to their outlandish hubris.

If they make a stupid mistake and kill off 75% of Atlanta then I will not be the least bit surprised.

That whole, “if I suspect I have it I would rather lock myself in a containment room and die alone” stuff you see in the movies would never occur to most of these radical liberals.

Devils' advocate, but if ISIS surgically implanted a nuclear bomb inside of this noble American do you believe that he should be flown to the epicenter of one of our largest cities to disarm it?

This could be how it is spreading from the patients. Not airborne, so much as it is coming from the fecel matter that isn’t properly disposed of. Would explain everything in fact.

Exactly; I think that some people are just panicking and believing that they have Ebola. They get ill, see the headlines, and end up asking to get tested.
