Classified documents leaked from the National Counterterrorism Center and published Wednesday reveal almost half of the nearly 700,000 terrorist suspects included on the governments terrorist watchlist have no connection to known terrorists.
According to the documents obtained by The Intercept, out of the 680,000 people included on the list, 280,000 have no recognized terrorist group affiliation, making it the largest category of any other on the list of known or suspected terrorists. The next-largest specific terrorist organization on the list is al-Qaida in Iraq, with only 73,189 people. (RELATED: Newly Released Document Reveals How The US Government Defines A Terrorist)

Actually, its very useful to the tyrants.
It similar to the adage about excessive laws mean you can control innocent people because you make them guilty by edict.
Had that car bomb gone off in NYC in 2010 and the left been successful in pinning it on the TEA Party, anyone associated with the TEA Party would have been declared a terrorist.
This is why the IRS was targeting the TEA Party, to get the names of people associated with the TEA Party so they could be declared terrorist.
We may not have contact with terrorists but they think we could become terrorists. I personally think that those willing to defend themselves are considered terrorists by this administration.
Those who believe in self-defense scare the bejeebees out of this administration.
Hope I’m on it. If not, I’m doing something wrong.
Do the people on the list know they are on the list, or do
they only find out about it when they show up at an airport?

You find out when you try to get on a plane. I know that because I was on the list for 3 years. Found out when I was unable to get on a plane returning to the US. They had to call the US Embassy to clear me. Two weeks later it happened again, but a nice lady at the airline counter whispered to me that I was on it. Took me more than a year and a legal mess to get off.
Do you think your rights were taken without due process of law?
(I do.)
It’s funny that they let the underwear bomber on a plane despite multiple attempts by his own Father to label him a terrorist. Incompetence at its finest.

Probably not. I was told by another airline employee that my Irish surname was likely the same as someone in the IRA. She advised me to ticket myself with my full first, middle and last names. It really helped, but it still took forever to get off the list. I have a letter from the TSA that I carry with me whenever I travel.
Since the lists are secret they could put just about anyone on them for any reason.
Sounds like 1930’s Germany, ya think?
In more ways than one.
Didnt Hitler also spend a lot of time outside the nation he would eventually rule?
It’s all very strange.
