DONETSK, Ukraine — With Ukraine’s military tightening a cordon around this city controlled by separatist rebels, Oleg Grishin found himself enlisted on Monday in one of their schemes for its defense: the forced labor of drunks, drug addicts and curfew violators to dig trenches and build barriers.
Sweat streaked his face. Yet with a militant commander standing nearby, he had no complaints about the stooped toiling in the sun. “What can I say, I was drunk, I was guilty, they are right,” he mumbled.
Donetsk, the rebel capital, is now isolated by the siege, which the Ukrainian Army managed to achieve over the weekend.

The difference here is that, it appears that the Donetsk rebels are engaged in impressment, whereas the Ukrainian military is doing something entirely different. I’ll wait for a Russian to chance along and explain the difference, if they can.
It is amazing how with much of the civilized western world against what Putin invading Ukraine, that the Putinistas think they can win 1/1,000,000,000 of a point for Russia.

Lyashko is releasing criminals from prison to fight for his Nazi battalions.
There is a precedent for this.
Oskar Dirlewanger, the worst Nazi War Criminal of them all, did the exact same thing during WW2, and was very active in Ukraine, putting down partisans. It was Dirlewanger’s troops that brutally put down the Warsaw Uprising, as well.
The Soviets had a standing order that Dirlewanger’s men were to be shot on sight, preferably after torture, with no quarter given.
I wonder if Lyashko fancies himself as the modern-day Dirlewanger.

There are PLENTY of people here more than willing to post Kiev propaganda, straight from the tap.
I am trying to provide balance, to what I have found to be wild, over-the-top, and exaggerated claims by Kiev, and it’s propagandists.
For that I have been called names, cajoled, and even threatened.
Like it or not, it’s that very bashing that has made me dig deeper into what is really going on, much to the Kiev propagandists ire.
