Iraq Christians flee as Islamic State takes Qaraqosh

Up to a quarter of Iraq's Christians are reported to be fleeing after Islamic militants seized the minority's biggest town in the country.

The Islamic State (IS) group captured Qaraqosh in Nineveh province overnight after the withdrawal of Kurdish forces.

Meanwhile, the UN says some of the 50,000 members of the Yazidi religious minority trapped by IS on Mount Sinjar have been rescued.

Say what you will about Iran but it’s a stable country where Judaism and Christianity are officially recognized. They are the one to root for in a fight with these guys.

You must be kidding. Do you know any minority Persians? They live in constant fear of death at the hands of the Islamists. They are protected only on paper.

Whatever their conditions are in Iran it would be better than being in an IS run territory (dead).
