U.S. Relocates 'Limited Number' of Staff in Iraq

WASHINGTON—Following a dozen airstrikes from the U.S. military in Northern Iraq this weekend, the U.S. State Department on Sunday relocated "a limited number" of staff from the American embassy in Baghdad and the U.S. consulate in Erbil.

The staff from the embassy in Baghdad and the consulate in Erbil will be transferred to the U.S. consulate in Basrah, Iraq and to Amman, Jordan. The State Department also issued a travel warning for Iraq, cautioning U.S. citizens against nonessential travel to the country, citing the security situation. The U.S. embassy's ability to assist U.S. citizens is limited, the State Department said.

The U.S. GOVERNMENT’s ability to assist U.S. citizens is limited, the State Department said.

Unless of course you want to open a lemonade stand...

there goes his first-stated reason for the airstrikes. he insisted they were defensive, and intended to protect American embassy personnel in erbil, or gerbil, or where the hell ever
