I’m sure he knew what it meant when he accepted a shirt with a giant picture of Putin on it and held it up to the crowd for cheers. And unless he’s been living in a cave, he knows what just happened in Crimea, and he goes there to the heart of the Russian military in Crimea, Sevastapol - you really think he’s that ignorant of what’s going on?

He fully supports Putin and his conquests.

That said, you’re right, Segal is just a useful idiot distraction rather than a real player.

Who says that actors are supposed to be “real players”?
Segal is in my top three for action ACTORS. I could not care less about his politics, but I can not imagine him being an OBOT.

“He fully supports Putin and his conquests.”

Charles Lindbergh supported Hitler. As I recall, when he volunteered for the Army Air Corp he was turned down.

There are probably a lot of psychological things displaying themselves here. A former actor trying to stay relevant says and does things that will get him in the news. Supporting the other side is not nearly so shocking and newsworthy. He’s also gotten to meet the Russian top guy. Meeting whoever is the top guy in the Crimea would not be newsworthy or ego pumping.

Or, like many liberals I’ve known, he may be a contrary responder. I say it’s good, they say it’s bad...and vice versa. It’s impossible to get along with people like that.
